Gov. Kate Brown Lays Out COVID-19 Testing And Contact Tracing As Keys To Reopening Oregon

UPDATE (12 p.m. PT) – Gov. Kate Brown said on Friday a new study with 100,000 randomly selected Oregonians could shed light on how far the coronavirus has spread throughout the state and will help guide the state’s decisions to reopen the economy.

It was one month ago the governor ordered everyone to stay home to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

“But holy smokes, it feels a lot longer than that,” the governor said on Friday.

At a press conference, Brown unveiled new details on how the state plans to expand COVID-19 testing and trace people who have been exposed to the coronavirus. Both measures are crucial to reopening the economy, which the governor said could start happening in some regions of the state as soon as May 15.

The governor warned reopening Oregon wouldn’t happen all at once and would be slower than what anyone wants.

“This is not like a light switch,” Brown said, adding it will be more like a dimmer.

An OHSU research team will randomly select Oregonians to voluntarily participate in the study. The study will focus on vulnerable populations and will help the state create a better map of where the virus exists in the state and how it affects certain populations.

The research team will track the temperatures and other COVID-19 symptoms of the participants. Those invited to participate will receive a letter and would agree to be tracked for up to one year.

The stay at home order is different from the state of emergency. The state of emergency has been extended through July 6.

All of the Rats want to increase testing, as even asymptomatic cases show a daily increase overall, giving their justification to lock everyone down.

The proper statistic to use is daily new hospitalizations. Those have been falling nearly everywhere, except growing hot spots.

Open the rest back up!!!!

Reject any conditions on the restoration of your freedoms. It was a mistake to allow them to be restricted.

“The extension allows Brown’s many executive orders linked to COVID-19, such as rules around large gatherings, business closures, and eviction prohibitions, to remain in place for another 60 days.” as quoted from the article!

Watch all 5 states in this evil compact do the same.

They are possessed by the evil that lusts after the power
to pull off a great global depression, stop the churches,
and extinguish the shining city forever.

It would be unwise to allow them to continue much longer.

Oregon refuses to report virus cases by city. Four counties have zero cases. When Oregon received tests kits from the Feds, the governor put them in storage. She delayed testing when the ‘crisis’ was peaking, but tests now in order to keep the numbers up.

The same thing could probably be accomplished by testing a sample of maybe 800 randomly selected people and it would be more accurate because of a shorter time frame to collect the data. A sample of 100,000 is a PR move.

Anybody who says “contact tracing” is blowing smoke. When a great percentage of people who have COVID are ASYMPTOMATIC, contact tracing is out the window. If you get COVID, unless in a very restricted enviironment like a nursing home or at home with sick relatives ... not in stores, out and about in the community doing whatever, who in the heck did you catch it from? “Contact tracing” is another control mechanism ... funny thing that some CHURCHES are being required to give up their membership lists with names, addresses, etc. under the excuse of contact tracing. Are businesses being required to to the same? IMO, contact tracing works for some things ... sexually transmitted diseases, TB etc., but you don’t see it with the flu .... COVID is not the flue, but it IS a lower respiratory infection & the curves on the graphs tend to follow flu & other lower respiratory illnesses. My 2 cents.

Women do NOT belong in high level positions of great responsibility. The largely lack the tools to make pragmatic decisions and most are far to emotional. A trait they are unable to curb when it becomes necessary to do so.

Gov Blanco was totally over her head trying to deal with Hurricane Katrina and abdicated her responsibility to have in place a plan to cover the emergency for the 3 days it would take the Fed gov’t to respond. Every State is required to have such a plan in place. She became so overwhelmed by the situation she broke down and cried.

Governors do not cry when faced with life and death situations....they ACT.

Both her and Nagin the Mayor of NO were defeated in the next election with Ray Nagin going to jail for taking bribes.

Those invited to participate will receive a letter and would agree to be tracked for up to one year.

The type of personality that would agree to this monstrosity is most likely not very representative of the general population.

It will yield worse than useless results and then be used to "justify" more deprivation of Rights.

Most Americans have no clue what their rights are under the Constitution.

Sooo, these people are going to make a list of everyone they’ve been in contact with for the last two weeks? That’d be tough if you flew (I suppose you could get the passenger list) or rode a subway.
