The Hill reports Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) on Thursday night said the protests that took place in her state Wednesday demanding an end to her “stay-at-home” order could result in an extension of social distancing measures like it.
Whitmer, during an interview with MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, said that the protests are the “kind of irresponsible action that puts us in this situation where we might have to actually think about extending stay-at-home orders, which is supposedly what they are protesting.”

Protesters, led by the Michigan Conservative Coalition, stormed the Michigan capitol building Wednesday demanding an end to the stay-at-home order, which they claimed was infringing on their personal liberties.
Whitmer said she’s afraid that kind of behavior will result in a resurgence of the disease, which has hit her state particularly hard. As of Thursday evening, Michigan has reported 29,263 cases and 2,093 deaths.
“The thing that I’m concerned most about, and that I think my fellow governors are as well, is a resurgence,” Whitmer said.
“When you see a political rally — that’s what it was yesterday — a political rally where people aren’t wearing masks and they’re in close quarters and they’re touching one another, you know that that’s precisely what makes this kind of disease drag out and expose more people.”
This article is wrong. The Michigan Conservative Coalition protest was the stay in the car one. And people did. They did NOT block hospital entrances either.
There were two OTHER protests at the same time and one of those was the one on the capitol lawn. Whitmer is full of sh*t.
But then again, she thinks ending a babies’ life via abortion is “life-saving” so there is no figuring out her logic.
Can’t think of a better way to go out, actually.
These governors are screwing with people who now have nothing better to do than blame government and maybe do something about it. All of those distractions we had to getting of our asses are gone, including the big one called “making a living”.

Same here. We watched the whole Lansing TV broadcast and never saw one Confederate flag. And you know if there had been one we would have seen it.

I will believe it when I see it. That is not going to happen.
There was ONE truck that had a confederate flag along with a US flag. I knew as soon as I saw it that they would use that as the symbol of the whole event.
She is asking for more problems. Some one better tell her that people will be pushed and irritated only so far.
Seig Heil Fuhrer Whitmer. You are going to extend the lockdown anyway, irregardless of the peaceful protest. Your intent is to destroy Michigan, tourism, the economy and make it all like detroit a hellhole.
