Michigan State Representative Karen Whitsett (D-Detroit) was sick for weeks before she was officially diagnosed with COVID-19.
She had a relentless headache and what she described as an uncomfortable and weird throat. She didnt have a fever, and she could smell and taste. A loss of some of those senses have been reported by other coronavirus victims.
Whitsett, and one of the doctors who initially treated her, thought she had a sinus infection.
They were wrong. Her illness reached a breaking point on March 31, which happened to be the same day she took the COVID-19 test. She had already been in quarantine with her husband (who was also sick) since March 12.
It was just out of nowhere, like, you literally had no time to think, Whitsett said.
Whitsett described the moment her lungs filled with fluid and took her breath away. She did not want to go to the hospital, which may have been fruitless anyway because she says the two near her Detroit home were full. She also didnt like the idea of being by herself.
"You go to the hospital, you're going with no one, she said. "All I could think of is...if I go in here, I may not come out."
The first term representative asked the doctor who wrote her the prescription to take the COVID-19 test if he would prescribe her with hydroxychloroquine. Its a disease-modifying agent and an anti-malaria drug that President Donald Trump has touted frequently as a treatment of the coronavirus, but the FDA says there is no proven treatment for COVID-19.

I dont want that crap, Ill just lay here and die. Tell my kids goodbye and I love them.
Bullshitz! Where is it? Lets getter done!
“Unproven”...yeah...ABC...
This will be if you happen to be fortunate enough to have a doctor who is on the ball with this treatment. If not you are out of luck.
The article said she knew about the treatment from Trumps comments. She asked her first doc to prescribe it and he wouldnt. Then she went to another doc who runs a chain of urgent clinics, who prescribed it. On Tucker tonight she thanked that doc and Trump for saving her life
Clearly just the flu. Nothing to worry about. /s
Its funny that Fauci wants it to be a proven drug for an illness that was discovered 5 months ago. And has only been in America since January. Everything is unproven. If you wait for proven you let a lot of people die. The real issue I believe is that Fauci is trying to limit the use to stop hording. Many doctors working on corona virus patients are taking the drug themselves.
This is the woman Trump talked about during yesterday’s press conference. Hope the video of her is out there somewhere. Sounds like a miracle.
You are out of luck, try reading the damn article.
Her Doctor said NO, and she said "Screw you Doc, I'll get a second opinion".
It will be dummies like you, that will let a damn doctor, that you hire, tell you NO, and you sheeple, will go, "Baaa, yes sir, I'll just die, because I'm out of luck".
Idiot.
Media: Real evidence = no proof. Fake crying nurse = proof
an anti-malaria drug that President Donald Trump has touted...
Theres that phrase again with the derogatory term touted.
A Doc is a hired gun. I never idolize them or believe or trust everything they say.
Be nice to your Docs but you get to say what gets done because you are paying them. You can always get a second and third opinion.
I am currently using Docs to treat a knee problem. I don’t tell one about the other. I am the third Doc because I am using heat and other stuff besides what the Docs are doing....prolotherapy.
Michigan State Representative Karen Whitsett (D-Detroit) ........ On Tucker Carlson she mentioned she has chronic Lyme disease

There is something about this story that does not pass the smell test.
Was she really sick for weeks. Or did she not feel well on March 30 and went to get tested on March 31.
I’m hoping that all those newsies and democrats who trashed Trump for suggesting that this compound might help, one day need treatment with it, but none is available.
“On Tucker tonight she thanked that doc and Trump for saving her life”
That’s a woman with CLASS. Probably hated Trump prior, just because he’s, well, Trump, and he’s a Republican.
She could have quietly recovered, privately been thankful for Trump, but not put herself out, risking death threats (probably the case) - but she did!
I’m sure she’s a flaming Leftist, but I wish her the best in politics, as there are very, very, few Democrats with the level of class that she demonstrates.
Over the years I have relayed info to relatives regarding emerging treatments hoping to ease their suffering. They ask their doc and he said no, thats not going to work on you. So they waited 10 years til his doc finally got up to speed and low and behold his doc said there is this new treatment that will work for you. It was antibiotic treatment for h pylori ulcer. Suffered for 10 additional years!
Moral of the story. Doctors are fallable and you are responsible for your own health! Fight for your right to be treated as you think best. You do have to do your own homework!
More Fake News. The drug is indeed, PROVEN, in studies of thousands of patients. The only place where it is declared to be unproven is in the Democrat party and its media minions.
