Previously known as two consecutive quarters of decline in GDP, but now defined as Orange Man Bad.

A recession requires 2 consecutive quarters of negative growth. Unless the last quarter of 2019 was negative, we can’t be in recession yet.

The U.S. recession is here.

Historically, when the total value of goods and services produced in the U.S. (called the Gross Domestic Product or GDP) is in decline for two or more quarters, a recession is declared.

This has not happened so we cannot, by definition, be in a recession.

A recession may happen, but it is not here.

Whatever.

I’ve seen and been in boxing matches where one guy got PULVERIZED for the first numbers of rounds.

It was over. He had no chance. He was going down.

And then he won.

That’s Trump

Why should we believe anything they have to say about anything.

They are comparing apples and tire irons. If (big IF) we are in a “recession” it will be like none before it since the situation is so different I doubt any expert in the field ever gave a second of thought about the current situation.

The economy was humming a long before the pandemic. Almost all work stopped not because of lack of customers but because the workers were told to go home and sit on their butts.

While some industries will be slow to recover (cruise lines and movie theaters) many others will hit the ground running when the word is given to go back to work.

If this is a recession then it is my opinion it will be the shortest one on records.

Democrats will be sadden by the the news.

Unfortunately for the Dems, the recession will be in Trump time whivpch means it will be over long before the election.

No, it isn’t a recession yet. There has to be two consecutive quarters of negative growth before a recession is called. we have only had two months of negative growth, and we will be growing again long before two quarters is up.

The criminal democrats have done all they could to get Trump without resorting to the ‘nuclear’ option of destroying the economy. But, when none of them worked, they chose the nuclear option to destroy the world-wide economy.

Now think about that for a second, folks. Leftists are so power hungry that they will destroy the entire economy.

Leftists (i.e. anyone who is a democrat) are you enemy, folks. Yes, that means your neighbor, ‘friend’, work mate, Priest, family member or anyone else who votes or is a democrat.

But how quickly the world's biggest economy will recover will depend on how much aid the government gives it

I was just a kid when WWII ended, but I can remember people saying that we'd go right back into the Depression.

What happened was that people had such a pent-up demand from not being able to buy things that they really broke loose and spent like drunken sailors.

IMO, to a certain extent I can see that happening where when restrictions are loosened. A lot of small companies and restaurants will probably not come back, but there will be a recovery of some magnitude.

A $22 trillion powerhouse economy and employment juggernaut, the cornerstone of President Trump’s re-election campaign, ground to a halt and left in smoldering ruins over a strain of the flu that has primarily killed the elderly residents of nursing homes.
