Gov. Beshear Tells Kentuckians Not To Travel To Tennessee

Gov. Andy Beshear is telling Kentuckians not to travel to Tennessee, a state he said has not taken the same “aggressive” steps as Kentucky in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

“I cannot control that Tennessee has not taken the steps that we have,” Beshear said. “I need you to not go to Tennessee for anything other than work, or helping a loved one, or maybe to the grocery.”

Beshear said Kentuckians on the southern border who travel into Tennessee to visit bars, restaurants or other types of establishments that are closed in Kentucky, risk bringing the virus back into the state.

“The sacrifice that people inside your county are making, ultimately you don’t honor that,” Beshear said.

Bars and restaurants in both states are supposed to have stopped all services except drive-thru, carry-out and delivery. Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee ordered all bars and restaurants to close to in-person traffic for two weeks, starting Monday Mar. 23, a week after similar measures were taken in Kentucky.

As of Friday, Tennessee had more than 1,200 confirmed cases and 6 deaths, with higher concentrations of cases in counties bordering Kentucky.

Asked if he had a conversation with Lee on the matter, Beshear said, “I have not even called him.” But admitted he is “frustrated” the state has not taken the same steps to prevent the virus spreading.

It is going to take weeks, maybe months, to unravel all of the restrictions implemented due to COVID-19. I think Easter is a pipe dream to re-open the country, but at least we’ll have air travelers coming from China. !#$%!&*$^%&*$^(*&%^*%&^@&*$^

It’s amazing to observe that Democrat governors immediately break out their jack boots, their riding breeches, and their Schutzstaffel (SS) patches on their jackets and swing into action. I wonder when they are going to assemble to adopt the plans to implement the final solution?

Hmm.

Kentucky has had a total of 8 deaths while the state that must be shunned Tennessee, a much larger state, has a grand total of 6.

The Left is really trying to pump this guy up. They’re making these comparisons to TN, LOOK HOW MUCH BETTER KY IS DOING THAN TN!!1!

Of course, no one mentions that TN has Nashville, which people from all over travel to all the time, and which is probably why it’s a bit of a CV hot spot. KY has nothing like that, other than a couple weeks of KY Derby, which doesn’t come into play on this.

Am I missing something here? Why is this guy getting all this good press, other than the Dems need someone for 2024 and know it?

Appears Beshear is setting up Tennessee as target for the pointed finger when somebody dies in Kentucky of the virus.

This guy is a real gem. See right through him.

Ignore him. We’ll take anyone from Kentucky with more than seven teeth. Ok, six teeth. Five? Ok, four teeth; but you can’t be married to a close relative.

Beshear won in a red state and he is as far left as you can get. Promised to expand abortion and proved his diversity by getting a photo with drag queens.

I’ve got a kid working at a hospital in Nashville. I have self-quarantined until now.

He has no authority to interfere with interstate commerce.

I mean, it might be wise to consider whether visiting a crowded bar is a really good idea right now, but the KY governor has no authority over TN. So far, in TN, it’s been left up to each locality to decide whether to open or close bars, restaurants, gyms, and such. I think that’s a better way anyway.

Actually, by executive order, all bars and restaurants are closed in Tennessee for inside, sit-down dining. Take out is still allowed. (We had a steak from Texas Roadhouse for supper.) All gyms are also closed. All social gatherings of more than nine people are also temporarily illegal. As of a few days ago, that wasn't a suggestion. It is the law, which makes the Kentucky governor's comments all the more peculiar.

We have positives in all of the Tennessee and Mississippi counties surrounding us but so far our rural area has been spared. Even in towns of <300 people are wearing masks, gloves, and closed the only dine in to carry out. Even our little pork shop is carry out which I am seeing people driving more than 50 miles here to buy bacon, pork chops, and sausage.

Beshear won in a red state …

Yes, but Kentucky has had Democrat governors for about 92 of the last 100 years. What appears to me to have happened is that Republican Bevin actually tried to fix Kentucky's very broken pension system, which ticked off the teachers and they defeated him.

https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections

KY projected to have 585 deaths through to August 1st.
TN projected to have 1551 deaths through to August 1st.

Very interesting projections. Some 80,000 deaths projected for the US. It is expected to get real nasty here real soon...

I didn’t know that TN made it statewide. in my area, the cities have done so already. As for the gatherings, I’d think that’s a hard one to enforce easily.

And yeah, that does make KY’s commentary pretty lame...
