Trump considering 'full pardon' for Michael Flynn after FBI 'lost' records

President Trump said he is seriously considering a pardon for former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn.

“So now it is reported that, after destroying his life & the life of his wonderful family (and many others also), the FBI, working in conjunction with the Justice Department, has 'lost' the records of General Michael Flynn. How convenient. I am strongly considering a Full Pardon!” Trump tweeted on Sunday.

Flynn, 61, pleaded guilty in December 2017 for lying to investigators about his conversations with then-Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak, and faces possible prison time.

After swapping legal teams, Flynn changed his tune, telling the U.S. District Court in Washington in January, “I am innocent of this crime." He filed to withdraw his guilty plea after the Justice Department asked Judge Emmet Sullivan to sentence Flynn to up to six months in prison, though afterward, the department said it believed probation would also be appropriate. Flynn's team, led by Sidney Powell, a former federal prosecutor, is now pressing for the dismissal of his case, arguing that the client was unfairly treated by the FBI.

If the judge was not corrupt then they would dismiss the case against Flynn. Why would the judge not do that when the files disappeared? Trump should not even be in the position of having to pardon Flynn.

Which means Trump is going to pardon him.

I’m no fan of Flynn’s, but this FBI/DOJ railroading crap needs to stop right f-in now.

Same. Relatives of mine were FBI and they are appalled about what is going on. Anyway, Flynn needs far more than a pardon. He needs to be made whole (plus some) financially as well.

The Judiciary should throw out any convictions and pending cases.

Trump shouldn’t have to pardon.

And Flynn should sue for damages.

I like that idea. He certainly will have the necessary passion for that job.

He needs to publicly order Barr to fire the top levels of the FBI and if/when he doesn’t, fire the top levels of both the DOJ and FBI.

The president can commute a sentence.

A commutation is the mitigation of the sentence of someone currently serving a sentence for a crime pursuant to a conviction, without vacating the conviction itself.

As alays, a great post. I am having flashbacks of many other situations commented on here. Why don’t people understand. FBI manipulated the documents Maybe they hid them, also. These documents had to be in the possession of the Prosecutors. They could not have charged Flyy otherwise. The FBI should have copies of everything. That doesn’t let the Prosecutors off the hook. You can’t get an indictment without all the evidence. I am sure the FBI is just as complicit as the Prosecutors but no one wants to go there. Meuller’s Team of Weissman and Van Geack are fully culpavle here. Judge is covering their asses. Judge feels he answers to no one so wheven bother. Our system “doesn’t work”.

Question-if James Traficant received a posthumous pardon would there be any benefit to his widow?

Certainly McCabe and/or Comey destroyed the files. And they have yet to be indicted.

Keep in mind...falsifying official documents is the preferred criminal method to cover-up larger crimes.

Passing copies of false documents as authentic can also involve forgery and other instances of serious criminality.

Falsifying documents is usually done in connection with broader criminal aims, such as:

extortion,

government fraud,

tax evasion,

money laundering,

financing terrorism. Falsifying documents is a very serious offense ...

Great reply Liz... few of us had any idea how criminal the deep state was when all this started...or how far their tentacles reached...YOU were one of the first.

The Deep States last stand will be massive voter fraud to get their criminal team back in the White House and able to cover up all of this... forever.
