Former Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning tried to “take her own life” in a Virginia jail on Wednesday ahead of a looming court date, her legal team said in a statement.
She has been recovering and is still expected to appear in court for a hearing Friday after refusing to testify before a grand jury in a WikiLeaks probe, the attorneys said.
Manning was re-arrested last May for failing to comply with the subpoena to testify after serving two months for the same issue.
A judge is set to rule Friday on a motion to terminate the civil contempt sanctions stemming from her May refusal.
She told the judge in May she’d “rather starve to death” than comply with the subpoena.

The Army Times ran a full 2 page story on Bradley Manning soon after his initial arrest. He had been giving off all kinds of signals that he was not mentally stable and was a security risk. The signals were ignored.
Personally, I think that this whole “transgendered” stunt is to try to deflect attention away from the fact that he is a traitor. It worked on Obama, who used the claim that Manning felt persecuted because of his supposed identifying as a woman to let him get away with treason. Manning did not commit treason because of his later decision to pretend to be female. He committed treason because he is mentally unstable.
He not a very good role model.
Especially in this our age of the women.

Truth is, many people like Manning try to take their own lives.
Surgery doesn’t fix their underlying issues and when they realize everything they’ve done was for nothing they decide to cash out.
Ashamed that he feels that everything he tries. What a loser!
