The Army Times ran a full 2 page story on Bradley Manning soon after his initial arrest. He had been giving off all kinds of signals that he was not mentally stable and was a security risk. The signals were ignored.
Personally, I think that this whole “transgendered” stunt is to try to deflect attention away from the fact that he is a traitor. It worked on Obama, who used the claim that Manning felt persecuted because of his supposed identifying as a woman to let him get away with treason. Manning did not commit treason because of his later decision to pretend to be female. He committed treason because he is mentally unstable.
