A bunch of years back, I spent a couple of days stopped in Missoula Montana. Noticing all the pickups with gun racks in the back, I commented, “There’s no way any conquering army could occupy every Missoula in this country. They simply don’t have enough soldiers to do it”.

Let me tell you a secret, don’t go looking for an F15 hoping a Hellfire missile is attached. But don’t tell Slow “Sling Blade” Joe that. Ummmm french fried potaters!

Not too be creepy. But our military is the best on earth when it plays away games. However, it is very poorly suited to repress the nation at home. If it attacks the American people in some psycho future, the pattern will be the same as everywhere on earth sees. The F-15 pilots would find themselves shot dead when they pumped gas. Their families don’t normally live on base.
The base commander would get an envelope with his children walking into school, in crosshairs.
Families would all have to be brought onto base and housed and guarded.
And our bases here are usually laughably insecure.
And fuel gets rather hard to get, a tanker truck driver was shot dead as he approached base. All the other drivers refuse.
Hellfires you say? Drones? Some drone pilot at Nellis would be in Vegas one night unwinding. He would have a few drinks with a woman, and finally he can’t resist letting her know he is a drone pilot. Her eyes light up and she’s *fascinated*. They go to her room and have passionate sex. As he dozes in post coital sleep, she sails a 38 through his brain. He died never knowing her dad and brother and niece were killed in a drone strike, and she came to Vegas just to murder a drone pilot.
And Hellfire come from a Raytheon plant. One morning four engineers and managers are found hanging from the overpass at the exit to the plant. Work stops as employees demand personal security.
Most places like General Atomics that make the drones are in industrial pars around airports and are laughably unsecure. So the story repeats.
