Democrats have put their House majority at risk in 2020 because they have motivated President Donald Trump's base to come out and vote for him, according to Trump pollster John McLaughlin.
"Yes," McLaughlin told Sunday's "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y., when asked if Democrats are in danger of losing the House. "It's likely because what they've done so far is motivated Trump voters to come back out from 2016, So, if those Trump voters come back out in 2020 that voted for him in 2016, plus if he broadens his base in 30 districts Democrats are sitting in right now that President Trump carried in 2016."
McLaughlin noted Republicans only need to flip 20 seats of those "already 30 endangered Democrats" to regain the House.
"The impeachment backfired; the president's job approval [is] moving up," McLaughlin told host John Catsimatidis, pointing to polls that measure "likely voters."
"The ones that have likely voters, like Rasmussen, they have his job approval at or about 50%," McLaughlin said. "If he gets over 50%, he's going to get re-elected, because that's what Obama had in 2012. He had 51%, and got 51% on election day. That's what George W. Bush in 2004 had on election day: 51% job approval; he was re-elected with 51%. That's why the Democrats are panicking."
"In the polls that came out this week, it looks like that it's going to be a two-way contest again between Sanders and Buttigieg," McLaughlin said. "Buttigieg will be the moderate candidate, and Sanders will be the very liberal candidate and the choice of the socialists."

Trump votes sat out 2016 because the useless GOP did nothing..
I think if the Democrats keep up the way there going,...Trump voters will be standing in line before the polls open..
And the MSN will help Trump vote turn out..
I’m hearing some incredible stories coming out of Virginia in terms of GOP mobilization.
The Left has awoken the sleeping giant.

I’m glad this is true, but sad if it needs to be true.
Do we really NEED to be motivated to support Trump other than by what we already knew about Trump, and already knew about the dems?
What I mean is, I know the shampeachment helped Trump’s overall approval numbers, and I’m glad that it did. But I’m sad that it required a shampeachment for those numbers to go up. I’m sad that they weren’t ALREADY up.
I think we have a shot at taking Virginia in November.
In 2016, a good bit of Trump voters stayed home because the media convinced them Trump had no chance of winning.
Also, Virginia’s recent attempts at gun confiscation will get butts to the polls.
The best help President Trump has in getting reelected is the Democratic Party.
If all on our side get off their asses and vote, it will be the biggest landslide in our history.
No because of NOVA. Trump wont win VA. Hell lose it by four.
It will be Bloomberg..he can buy the senate and house for the democrats
For those who choose to “sit out” elections to punish the RINOS, look to what is happing in Virginia when conservative did not turn out in 2019 to punish the brain dead Republican Party of Virginia. Now demented DemonRats are moving at a break neck pace to erase rights that Virginians have taken for granted for centuries. Those who think that it is pious to be above politics should consider the wisdom of Plato - “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.”

_______________
NO WAY. In 2016, Trump lost VA by 5.4%.
He’s going to do way better than that in 2020.

Bears repeating
The Democrats best friend. At the time of impeachment the future of the GOP hung in the balance. I am sure that Romney wasn't the only traitor, but I hope that the certain outcome of turning themselves into a minority so small the Dems needn't do deals with them scared them into supporting Trump in the end.
I still resent that they didn't start public hearings when Shifty got started and further that they didn't dismiss his steaming pile and refuse it entry into the Senate chamber.
“I can’t imagine a southern black Democrat man getting too excited about voting for either of those. “
indeed ...
“Do we really NEED to be motivated to support Trump other than by what we already knew about Trump, and already knew about the dems?”
lots of people weren’t yet convinced of Trump’s greatness at the end of 2016, and traditionally turnout is low for the midterms .... hopefully, conservative voters have wised up about future midterms given what they’ve seen happens when the Dems take the House ...
Too early to put them on the extinct list?
The rats are about to give 200-300,000 illegals drivers licenses in Virginia. The rats are always on offense, always. They have seen what you have and they know they have lit up the ones who stayed home in 18 so they are taking steps.
In 2016, Trump lost Colrado by 5.1%.
Now James Carville said in 2016 that Va and Colorado are twin sisters when it comes to voting patterns.
So, if Trump can win Va in 2020, then maybe he can also win Colorado...
and, in the process, save Cory Gardner’s Senate seat.
Voters sat out 2018 because they were politically ignorant purists who wanted to teach those who only voted with Trump 80% of the time a lesson. That worked out well. Hopefully, it was the purists who learned a lesson, and can exercise their newfound wisdom in 2020. I have my doubts, as there are still plenty of folks screaming “PRIMARY!” every time a Republican expresses any point of disagreement with Trump.
And speaking of 2018, let’s not forget how confident folks were about a “red wave”. How people predicted massive turnout due to the “Kavanaugh effect”. Those who don’t learn from the past...
