This is much more significant than it looks and is probably the reason the DesMoines Register poll of Iowa Caucus Goers was (to quote the New York Times) "Abruptly Shelved".

It's not just that Bernie is at 28%. Warren is at 14%.

If a candidate gets < 15%, their supporters are released to go vote for someone else, and many of Warren's so-called "progressive" supporters would likely go to Bernie, putting him closer to a blowout at 40%.

The DNC needs Warren to get to 15% to avoic a catastrophe and publishing a poll showing she's likely to come up short could create a self-fulfilling prophesy if just a few of those inclined to support her saw the poll and figured 'why bother, may as well join Bernie in the first place rather than show up late to the party'.

The real question is why on earth would 11% of ANYONE support Amy Klobuchar?

“Bernie Sanders has won this satellite caucus, with 5 people in his corner. Klobuchar and Buttigieg each got 2.”

A tiny caucus out in the boonies, but they felt the Bern.

The DNC knows what they think is in the voters’ best interest. They’re not going to allows their votes to matter.

Because they just tested the exact same candidate (Jeremy Corbyn) in the UK and the results were Titanic.

Sure. I’ll take a stab at it.

1) Bernie has always run for Congress and Senate seats as an Independent. He does not officially recognize the Democrat Party, except when he wants on a Presidential ballot.

2) Unlike most of the other Dem candidates who are largely mouthing platitudes when they promise new socialist goodies, Bernie really seems to MEAN it. This scares the bejeebers out of the big corporate and Wall Street types who actually fund the Democrat Party.

Maybe some people are turned on by bland, whiny women?

It is truly bizarre how she has managed to get funding and continue to stay on the debate stage. I think this will come down to Sanders and Bloomberg in the end. They probably lose either way but I think Bloomberg makes it closer.

I wonder what Iowans would think about Sanders’ early essay on women’s rape fantasies:

“I wonder why the DNC has it in for Bernie? Can anyone here tell me?”

presumably, because they (like many trump supporters) believe Trump will crush bernie because our nation isn’t yet ready to elect an avowed communist, particularly given that the economy, employment, and wages are the best they’ve ever been since WWII, and commies are only popular when everything is in the crapper ...
