I might add that your generation needs “trigger warnings” and “safe spaces” as pre-conditions for learning in school. Its members have a pathological need to be coddled and protected from the challenging realities of life. Your generation is the biggest demander and consumer of carbon spewing technological gadgets and devices. An hour without any of them and too many of you succumb to paralyzing lethargy. Your generation is the least curious and most insular set of individuals one has ever encountered. Your hubris extends so far that you think you have nothing to learn from your elders.
Yes, we have betrayed you: by capitulating the world of leadership to bored, attention-deficit children who spout bromides, platitudes and slogans that a rudderless and morally relativistic culture accepts because a significant number of its denizens have become intellectually bankrupt and morally lazy.
The logical endpoint of your ecological vision would see us living in primeval conditions eking out an existence in jungle swamps in which we would regard poisonous snakes and man-eating tigers as our moral equals. We would have to adapt ourselves to nature rather than adapt nature to meet our needs, like all members of civilized civilizations do. Your vision would see us foraging for mushrooms and plants without knowing which were inimical to our digestive systems. Under your system we would swelter from heat, die from rampant plagues and starvation because there will be no air-conditioning units

What remains shocking to me is how vicious normally good people can be, against a child so clearly in need of help. Her problems are well-publicized, and she is clearly not pulling the strings here. Yeah, she's spouting all sorts of statist nonsense, but she's being used as a human shield...why not bash the snot out of the adults behind her?
The real teachable lesson here, is that the left will use a mentally challenged child as a human shield to further their goals of enacting liberty-killing "environmental" policies. THAT approach would have yielded much better results - and been morally defendable- vs dumbass memes sporting Greta.
If things were left up to Greta Thunberg, PETA, and other eco-enviro-Nazis humanity would die off and animals would roam the earth like in pre-historic times.

I just returned home from the movie 1917. Stunningly well done emotionally draining movie. It was epic. All should see it.
I was reminded of these very snowflakes. Panning the faces of those young boys at war I couldn’t help but think what an incomparable time and people.
Sad. All of it. To you who’ve not yet seen that movie, please go. Hard to watch but so well done. We can’t forget the ravages of war. Ever.

Would we lose that war? What would be Climate Kid’s life expectancy after arriving on Iwo Jima with an M1 Garand and a 60 pound pack. How would Thunberg fare in hand to hand combat with Japanese troops?

These eco-luddites would have us lived in primordial conditions, but don’t think for a minute that the elites, celebrities, politicians and yes even St. Greta, wouldn’t continue to live their posh life styles. I had to laugh that one Hollywood type recently defended his flying on private jets to environmental conferences, but said he was foregoing new clothing to save the environment. Sea levels we are assured are soon going to flood our coasts, but no one seems to notice that the Obama’s seaside mansion in Martha’s Vineyard is mere feet above sea level as is Al Gores California sea side mansion. Private jets carrying the elites flock to climate conferences where over gourmet meals and fine wines the elites lecture us about eating meat and driving our cars to work. However the media is doing a fine job of covering up the stench of environmental hypocrisy.
In both World Wars, seventeen year old young men (that’s what they were, unlike today’s snowflakes) were lying about their age in order to enlist.
My grandfather was older than that when he volunteered in 1917, but he had just married my grandmother who was sixteen at the time. As the saying went,
“There are sixteen year old girls, and there are sixteen year old women.”
In those days, adult responsibilities for most came at an earlier age.
They were married almost fifty years when Grandpa died of a stroke.
And now we have stunted children like Greta Thunberg being led around by middle aged children as an example to the rest of us.
