Depends on your lifetime. Prior to 1992 the GOP regularly won CA.

Waste of money and time. Hillary won CA 61.5% to 31.5% by 4.3 million votes.

And the same for the US presidency,,,,per the pollsters of 2016.

I say Trump goes through California and holds rallies, like a fireline around every democrat stronghold. Cast a light on and Expose the living conditions suffered by the lowest economic class, , the abject failure and misery of liberal uniparty policies, take the fight against these treasonous pompous oligarchs to their own back yards.

Prior to 1992 the GOP regularly won CA.

Prior to 1992 Democrats regularly won Texas. I don't see that happening again any time soon.

I thin New York could be in play also.

And the Democrats think Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Arizona are in play. Better to spend time proving them wrong in a hopeless attempt to win New York.

" He does not so much need to run in California but, instead just use California against the dems."

Or does he create a side show where they have to start pumping money into CA to keep it aboard and deny them resources elsewhere.

If so brilliant...

I’ve been thinking this for awhile now.

Even IF he doesn’t “win” it outright, he can help win seats in CA.

More importantly, he will FORCE Dems to spend money they don’t have, in California.

Spending money in Congressional and Senatorial races as well as the presidential race. This would be a YUGE blow to the Dems even if Trump loses in CA.

Not a waste at all. In fact, it is brilliant. Helps borderline congressional districts that flipped in 2016. AND, most of the USA hates arrogant California coastal libs ... so attacking them head on would be an awesome way to highlight the difference b/w us and them.

"In short, Nigel Farage has provided the blueprint that will leverage Trump’s unique personality and effectiveness. Bottom line: Even if you run in Maxine’s or Nancy’s district and lose 85% to 15%, that is 15% MORE people in each district that has been reached, and can be red-pilled. It’s not a guarantee, and still a longshot to be honest, but cumulatively this is how California can be brought back from the brink over the next decade."

My one heartburn w/ PDJT (correct me if I am wrong) is he has not asked from the podium @ the rallyes that the body populous in those locations consider running.

IMHO this is another throw out the bums year aka like 2010, and Sadly I think the GOP is blowing it by not leveraging that fact...

A few things at play here... DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE BLACK VOTE THIS YEAR. There has been a huge awakening. If Bernie or Warren or an out and out socialist gets nominated, there will be no enthusiasm to vote. Down ticket GOP candidates are praying for that.

But haven’t you heard, electing Arnold Schwartzenegger will put California “in play” for Bush, and John Cox is “within striking distance” of Gavin Newsom and blah blah blah...

I think a lot of California, NY, and NJ conservatives stay home if they think the Dems will win regardless. Trump doesn’t have to win CA. He just has to make the popular vote less lopsided.

No Republican is going to win CA in our lifetime.

This is what economists call "availability bias." The human mind tends to predict the future based on current results and those of the immediate past. If it's been raining non-stop for 1 week, most people will guess that it'll rain tomorrow, too. I don't believe that Donald Trump will take CA in 2020, but circumstances can and do change across decades. San Francisco used to have GOP mayors... like as recently as a half-century ago. Could trends shift favorable in a GOP direction in CA in say 10-20 years from now? Never say never.

It's only Scott Adams saying it, but I'd be surprised if the President isn't already doing this, and it makes sense that he would. California's solid singlle-party regime is brittle, and it'll be expensive to maintain against any kind of concerted attack. Even if it doesn't work, putting on some pressure will divert resources away from other states, and bring them back to Hollywood as they desperately fend off both the President and the La Raza crowd. President Trump will have to rely on rallies, and on outsiders to run the ground game, because Cali doesn't have reliable Pubbie regulars. Thanks taildragger.

Trump Warns California Governor Gavin Newsom – Fix Your State or I Will
thepoliticalinsider.com ^ | December 26, 2019 | December 26, 2019

President Trump issued a warning to Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom, telling him to fix his state’s homeless problem or the federal government will step in.

“Governor Gavin [Newsom] has done a really bad job (of) taking care of the homeless population in California,” the President said in a Christmas Day tweet. “If he can’t fix the problem, the Federal Govt. will get involved!”

As with many cities and states dominated by liberal policies, squalor runs rampant in California.

According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Newsom’s state led the nation in the number of homeless people in January of 2018, with an estimated total of over 129,972.
