I don’t know why you assume race wasn’t a factor; many poor blacks listen to “leaders” who insist race is everything, and oppression by whites is the reason for the misery of so many blacks.

Typically, 4-500 whites are killed by blacks each year. And typically, a couple hundred blacks are killed by whites each year.
In my early readings of Americans history related books, I heard that people in the south called blacks subhuman during segregation era. I come to realize that it may not be derogatory at allTo that comment, I responded "It's not a matter of race or color of skin." "It's all due to Leftist politics (which destroyed the family) and subhuman leadership..."
As to your comment, I think there is a difference between saying that someone else was racist and acted on that racism to murder an innocent person AND that someone else murdered another person because the murderer was of a certain race and people of that race are murderers (i.e., subhuman).

It is evil when it is directed toward you and it is evil when it invades your own soul.

On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with our exercising caution.
As ole Jesse Jackson said (I paraphrase), "the last person I want to meet on a dark street at midnight is a large black youth."
That is true - and BLACK flight from those areas vindicates any who “exercise caution” by avoiding them.
