I didn’t watch the game but saw a clip. How many people were ejected? I suppose the NFL is still deciding on penalties.

Compare and contrast with the best retirement states in Kiplinger's 50 state retiree guide...

General guide:
https://www.kiplinger.com/tool/retirement/T055-S001-state-by-state-guide-to-taxes-on-retirees/index.php

Five best states for gun owners (AK, AR, ID, KS, OK):
https://www.kiplinger.com/tool/retirement/T055-S001-state-by-state-guide-to-taxes-on-retirees/compare.php?ids=3-2-13-17-37

Also compare cost of living...Alaska is a killer, I think.

44. Maryland

Several anti-gun bills were introduced this year in Maryland, but fortunately all of them died upon adjournment. Carry permits are extremely difficult to obtain in the state’s may-issue framework, but there is the option of appealing a denial to a five-member review board. Since the board was actually doing its job and issuing some permits, the legislature tried to have it disbanded. The state’s governor vetoed that bill. Permits to purchase a handgun are required, and Black Rifles are restricted. Somewhat surprisingly, the state gets full points in the NFA category. (2018 rank: 44)
I had to take a 4-hour course with a "final exam" (the exam being qualification on the range) in order to be issued a "license" to purchase. The licenses are issued by the State Police. The instructor was a pro-2nd Amendment retired cop, and he kept the content interesting. Some interesting points:

However no restrictions of gun ownership by gang members; they can do what they want.

Oklahoma finally ranks i the top five for something not negative.

I expect pot sales per capita will be next.

Shannon’s Law makes it a FELONY (hard prison time) to fire ANYWHERE into or within a municipality. Exceptions are in defense of self, others or live stock. An accidental discharge...even in your own home...and you are screwed. A coyote or bobcat tearing up your yorkie? Shoot and you are screwed.

This bill was sold to the public and politicians as an attempt to reduce celebratory random gunfire in the emotional wake of the tragic death of Shannon Smith. While there is merit in that notion, the bill had the cynical added benefit for anti gunners of adding more people as prohibited possessors. Besides, there were already laws on the books prohibitng the New Years type drunken shooting into the air.

Last I heard they were trying to make use of birdshot in handguns legal for defense of pets but I don’t know if that went anywhere. Where I live in Illinois you can shoot in defense of self or property and pets are considered property.

All in all in my opinion this is a rotten law and in reality a trap for decent people to lose their gun rights.

Maryland sucks for guns. But, your instructor got a few things wrong.

Purchasing a handgun requires you to get it registered - unless you lived in Maryland before 2008.

Unless you have a Concealed Carry permit (Maryland calls it the "Wear/Carry Handgun Permit (WCHP - which by the way is almost impossible to get)", you are absolutely not permitted to carry your loaded handgun outside of your house.

Inexpensive handguns (so called "Saturday Night Specials") are strictly outlawed.

There is no "before 2008" exemption. I've been here since 1982. All handguns, and regulated rifles (i.e., AR-15) are registered. Theoretically, you can't buy a AR-15 pattern rifle anymore. When MSP Form 77R is returned to the state after purchase, the gun is registered.

You can carry a loaded handgun anywhere on your property or your business without a permit.

The "Saturday Night Special" law dates back to the early 1980's. Today, it has nothing to do with price. The handgun, if manufactured after 1985, has to be on the Handgun Roster. The Handgun Roster Board meeting quarterly. You can see what is approved online.

Thanks for the clarifications. I didn’t take notes, and was going by memory.

yes. among the measures they want to enact:

1- ban the sale and use of magazines that hold more than ten rounds.

2- ban the sale of rifles that can hold a magazine.

3- ban the possession of handguns that are capable of carrying more than ten rounds.

4- Ban private sales or transfers.

5- place a five day delay on all firearm purchases effectively ending all gun shows.

6- banning ammunition shipments by mail.

7- further restricting the ability of gun owners to concealed carry and where you can concealed carry. Right now VA is an open carry state so that would effectively end.

8- Limit the purchases to one a month. This too would hurt gun shows.

I even heard they want to enact limits on ammunition purchases (quantity) and place restrictive taxes on them

This is just what's in public. who knows what else these crypto-commies will dream up with their new found power.

Yes, a few counties surrounding DC will force people in Bristol, Petersburg, Matrtinsville and Floyd to live by their rules.

this is what happens when women and foreigners vote.
