Since 'Medicare for all' is a current demrat pet rock this old but very interesting article is very timely;

Here are some pull quotes:

Socialized medicine will create massive government bureaucracies — similar to our unified school districts — impose costly job-destroying mandates on employers to provide the coverage, and impose price controls that will inevitably lead to shortages and poor quality of service. It will also lead to nonprice rationing (i.e., rationing based on political considerations, corruption, and nepotism) of healthcare by government bureaucrats.

In supporting the call for socialized medicine, American healthcare professionals are like sheep demanding the wolf: they do not understand that the high cost of medical care in the United States is partially based on the fact that American healthcare professionals have the highest level of remuneration in the world. Another source of the high cost of our healthcare is existing government regulations on the industry, regulations that prevent competition from lowering the cost. Existing rules such as "certificates of need," licensing, and other restrictions on the availability of healthcare services prevent competition and, therefore, result in higher prices and fewer services.

Socialized medical systems have not served to raise general health or living standards anywhere. In fact, both analytical reasoning and empirical evidence point to the opposite conclusion. But the dismal failure of socialized medicine to raise people's health and longevity has not affected its appeal for politicians, administrators, and their intellectual servants in search of absolute power and total control.

healthcare institutions in Russia were at least a hundred years behind the average US level...

That’s a LOT OF ####ING YEARS in medicine!!

At least in the past few centuries.

Started in 1918...and then a few sentences later it says that HIV is mainly contracted through dirty needles or HIV TAINTED BLOOD IN THE HOSPITALS!

That means NOTHING got better in almost 100 years of the “revolution”

In some parts infant mortality is 10 percent!!!

That’s HIGH. Wow.

And that’s what dems want here.

Because this time they’ll do it the “RIGHT” way.

The moronic Democrats, including ‘Medicare for All’ Warren, should ask themselves if Ruth Bader Ginsberg, or Jimmy Carter would be alive still if they had been forced into a ‘utopian’ socialized medicine system.

Socialists and Communists. The very ideology that couldn’t even deliver toilet paper to its citizens. And our brainwashed pubic skrool yoots think this is a great idea.

Politburo types get the perks, so the answer is yes. The 99% of the remaining peons get nothing.

Another source of the high cost of our healthcare is existing government regulations on the industry, regulations that prevent competition from lowering the cost.

Yet another factor is malpractice litigation, which awards millions to people regardless of any actual malpractice. That component of healthcare cost should never be omitted.

Sounds like a Democrat dream. The ruling elite/inner party will get excellent care and the masses will be oppressed and die if they don’t support the rulers.

Back in the 80's when Russia was still the USSSR, my sister and brother in law traveled to Russia with my nephew's youth hockey team that was going there to play hockey against Russian youth teams.

On one day they rented a cab and the driver was actually a doctor who was driving the cab in order to earn more money.........

Whatever reasons the State gives you, they are lies. The purpose is total control and “equality.” communism is obsessed with making everyone “equal.” In reality, no one becomes equal, but no one is allowed to try to crawl out of the State-imposed misery, except the ruling party elite, Nomenklatura, which is given all privileges.

FAST
CHEAP
WELL DONE

In Communism and Democrat run Government you don’t get ANY of them, in private at least you get a chance at maybe 2. With RINOs and weak Republicans you get lucky to get one. This goes for everything. DMV, Medical, Laws, border protection, housing, etc.

Being a doctor was an occupation which held a very low social status in the USSR. Quite often it went to women who had flunked out of teachers college. They were largely glorified nurse practitioners, albeit not as competent as the ones we have here.

Despite this certain medical procedures like lasik surgery were pioneered in the USSR. Go figure.

I have family in Cali, Colombia and have visited for eye exams, heart monitor & yearly cancer checkup (cancer survivor).

I had three visits with a cardiologist, a visit to an oncologist and two visits to an eye doctor. Costs for ALL three visits except new glasses & prescriptions - $651 USD (1.3M pesos equiv at the time.)

Their cost are WAY lower proportionally than here in the USA in spite of their national health care system AND the general population are not laden with two legged tattooed fatty fat fatty pork pies.
Why you ask?

1. No welfare
2. No EBT
3. No Section 8
4. No government freebies to generations of couch potatoes breeding generations of couch potatoes. Everybody works and takes care of their own family.
5. Neighborhood clinics for triage....you cannot bring your five snot-nosed brats into an emergency room because one has a cold. Excepting the current border issues with Venezuela, outsiders were very restricted in their stays in-country.
6. They don't have 70% of the world's lawyers looking to sue someone.
7. It is your responsibility that you take care of you & yours .....not the government.
8. No free phones and the myriad of other gimmeedat bling.
