I was getting into the habit of listening to Seb Gorka on his You Tube channel, but 10 minutes prior to this post You Tube wiped his channel for "third party complaints about copyright infringement".

Right now there are millions of people thinking of ways to make life difficult for YouTube/Google. Same with Fakebook and Twatter.

I’d love to know the specifics of their claim.

Copyright infringement allows for “fair use”. For example, I’m allowed to use a line from any movie, particularly if it’s commonly used or a part of popular culture, because of that and because it’s only a small fragment of the entire work. I don’t even have to cite the author/owner unless I use more than a very small allusion. But copyright also does not stop me from using excerpts of works if the author is cited. You just can’t lift entire works (without permission) and you can’t use parts of works without citation.

The original intent of copyright laws was to keep people from claiming other people’s works (copying them) and especially profiting form them.

These days, copyrights (like all ‘intellectual property’) is being weaponized to control every aspect of how we communicate.

All Facebook and all Google will be advertising for the Democrats and there will not be a word from or about Republicans. I’m not tech savvy at all so I’m wondering what if any means of communication will remain to conservatives outside Leftist Big Tech social media ?
