Journalists have no respect for the “loose lips” truism! It gets in the way of their respect circle!

I watched the DoD press briefing this morning. The (de)Press ask questions, that if answered, would have put our special operators and their families at severe risk.

Unlike former VP Biden on the UBL take down, no “it was Seal Team __” was revealed.

There no reason to inform Congress ahead of time. We had people killed in Yemen because of Democrat Congress critters running their mouths.

The only legal obligation, questionably, is the War Power Act which requires Congress to be notified within 48 hours of operations commencing.

That is probably not even necessary since Congress rubber stamped Obama’s war in Syria. President Trump is merely acting under their existing “authorization for use of military force”

Yet Trump is slammed for not telling Dem’s beforehand? They leak like a leaking dam.

There is absolutely no reason nor need for Congress to know of any Special Operations action or actually any conventional operation until after it occurs...

This explains why Trump didn't inform Dems before the raid

How about, he didn't inform Members of Congress before the raid because they have no operational responsibility and their oversight obligation can be satisfied with an after-action report?

Why make this into a "Trump hits back" issue when NO President should be disclosing operational details to Congress, ever?

Not telling Dems was genius. Dems can appeal on the basis of constitutionality, but they have to take a stand against killing Bugdady.

I wouldn’t tell Congress a damn thing until after action - beg forgiveness if unsuccessful. They don’the need to be involved.

For reasons like this is why the military should not under any circumstances embed reporters in operations or have informal briefings off the record. All briefings should be run through PAO office with the proper sanitation to protect the soldiers. Reporters are often not friends of the soldiers or they will blab information to those who wish harm on the soldiers. In other cases it is the reporters employer who wants the headlines before the others gain the news cycle with all lack of disregard to the soldiers safety.

Did Obama notify the Republicans before he killed OBL?

AND, Patrick J. Leahy isn’t called “Leaky Leahy” for nothing. Think he made sure OBL, and the world, was told that Bush was using cellphones to determine OBLs location.

“Adam Fisch has to be killed by a Prumt supporter. You said that I could see the future? Well, this is what I see if Fisch is killed by a Prumt-loving smelly Walmart hillbilly: his assassination will absolutely flip the narrative in our favor. Poor Adam Fisch will become an instant martyr, murdered while he was searching for truth and justice against the evil forces of Harold Prumt. By the next day’s news cycle, people will think that Prumt pulled the trigger himself. The new narrative will write itself: ‘Harold Prumt was so afraid of being impeached, that he sent out dog whistles calling for Fisch to be assassinated.’ The Fisch assassination will totally derail Hardum’s investigation. Fisch will lie in state under the Capitol dome; it’ll be glorious. That moron will be more use to us dead than alive. In a very real sense, his murder will be the final article of impeachment; it’ll seal the deal. Then, in the passion of the moment, we’ll get at least twenty Republicans to vote to convict… and we’ll finally be able to drag Harold Prumt out of the White House.”
