No ones expecting Donald Trumps Thursday rally in Minneapolis to go seamlessly. Some 20,000 mostly out-of-towners will descend on the Target Center. An even larger crowd of locals will be frothing outside. It's a recipe that makes collisions inevitable.
So Republicans will be escorted to and from their cars. That duty will fall to Oath Keepers, a patriot group whose members fancy themselves as guardians of the republic. Or as the Southern Poverty Law Center calls them, one of the largest radical anti-government groups in the U.S. today.
They are not the kind of people you want entering your city. Especially since they tend to be heavily armed.
The group was launched in 2009 afternot coincidentallywe elected a black president. Its beliefs roughly mirrored the conspiracy theories of the day: that the black guy was preparing to invoke martial law. That he would take away your guns. That he would relegate patriots to detention camps.
A decade later, it appears Obama forgot to execute his plot, likely because he never entertained it in the first place. Yet the Oath Keepers carry on, raising Citizen Preservation militias to defend against global elitists and fight the imaginary forces arrayed against them.
Though a rainbow of people will be protestingeveryone from Veterans for Peace to Muslim civil rights groups to people organizing a knitting sit-inthe Oath Keepers have a new enemy: Antifa. Also known as violent communists and America-hating leftists.

They were close to correct. It wasn't Obama, it would be O'Rourke, or one of the other 2020 presidential candidates from the Democrat side. At least that's what they say now. Obama had the same plan, but he had to wait for more murders to occur before his team could push their plan forward.
Hi.
I’m sorry, I forgot something.
In the fwiw department Peter, I swore an oath over forty years ago to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.
Kotz, oaths are forever.
5.56mm
Mayor created a vacuum pulling shirts off police. Vacuums get filled.
That is a very good point. How can a group whose entire premise is obedience to the same oath every elected official takes be "anti-government"? Particularly since the members of the group have all taken the same oath, and many are actually in the employ of the government, serving in law enforcement, the military, and elsewhere.
The SPLC and their leftist friends are a constant fountain of nonsense.
What a great group! How dare the media call them a “conspiracy group.” This is the the newest, Leftist label to be used against conservatives as an excuse to cause us harm.
It’s not like they’re the black pampers.
Or as the Southern Poverty Law Center calls them, one of the largest radical anti-government groups in the U.S.
So, real Americans then, as opposed to the traitorous commies from the SPLC.
Antifa. Also known as violent communists and America-hating leftists.
They are violent, theyre communist, and they definitely hate America. I would say these descriptors are accurate.
They are not the kind of people you want entering your city.. (I sure as hell don’t want the SPLC entering my city.
The real freak show is in the comments section....
MS-13? Anti-facist facist cowards wearing black masks?
Oath Keepers is the real modern militia.
It is a great neighborhood watch group to join ahead of time before a SHTF event. They provide logistics to keep you informed of Govt tyranny, if it so happens.
They are good to join if the State starts breaking down doors.
OathKeepers are NOT a hate group. They are pledged to keep their Oaths of Office, and to follow the Constitution, not the whims of their political bosses. That’s it.
This article is pure shite, as one should expect from the Southern Poverty Pimps Law Ctr.== that is 3 lawyers and fax machine on their way to the weekly bisexual orgy and continued OFF SHORE accounts worth several hundred million USD>
“You dont want to go to the reeducation camp, do you comrade?”
“She was singin’
Don’t turn around, oh oh oh
(Ja, ja) Der Kommissar’s in town, whoa oh oh
You’re in his eye and you’ll know why
The more you live, the faster you will die
Alles klar, Herr Kommissar?”
Ah, Veterans for Peace. It started out as a Communist Party USA front during the Korean War and had several incarnations, esp. during the Vietnam protests. It was led by veteran CPUSA organizer Leroy Wolins, whom I suspect of being a KGB or GRU asset (I met him while I was undercover for the government).
His partner in a Soviet publications/propaganda import operation in Chicago was another CPUSA member and definitely KGB/GRU asset, attorney David Simon Canter, whose father took them to the Soviet Union in the 30’s so that he could work for Stalin.
Canter has been identified by his own son Marc in the following cryptic manner, “My father knew Obama”. Canter was the political kingmaker in Chicago, helping put Marxist Harold Washington in as the mayor there.
Today’s VFP is the latest in the far-left’s incarnation of this old CP front.
Nice to see the reds are taking to the streets again in Minneapolis. It’s like old times from the 40’s and 50’s.
VFP also spawned VVAW.
PS: I seem to recall that VFP re-incorporated as a new organization at some point—would need to double-check my files.
Communists always call their actions “for the people” and anyone who defends against them as “aggressors”.
Oh boy! The most credible group of patriots in the country other than three percenters. But what do you expect from Minnesotistan?
It’s not a conspiracy if they’re actually out to get you...
