TRUMP REFUSES TO PARTICIPATE IN IMPEACHMENT FARCE
Powerline ^ | 8 Oct 2019 | John Hinderaker

Posted on 10/08/2019 7:39:07 PM PDT by Rummyfan

Today, President Trump’s White House Counsel, Pat Cipollone, directed an eight-page letter to Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, et al., declining on behalf of President Trump to participate in the Democrats’ sham impeachment proceeding. The letter, embedded below, is excellent. Some would say, brilliant. It attacks the Democrats’ constitutionally defective and politically motivated proceeding at its root. You should read it all. This is the letter’s introduction:

I write on behalf of President Donald J. Trump in response to your numerous, legally unsupported demands made as part of what you have labeled–contrary to the Constitution of the United States and all past bipartisan precedent–as an “impeachment inquiry.” As you know, you have designed and implemented your inquiry in a maimer that violates fundamental fairness and constitutionally mandated due process.

For example, you have denied the President the right to cross-examine witnesses, to call witnesses, to receive transcripts of testimony, to have access to evidence, to have counsel present, and many other basic rights guaranteed to all Americans. You have conducted your proceedings in secret. You have violated civil liberties and the separation of powers by threatening Executive Branch officials, claiming that you will seek to punish those who exercise fundamental constitutional rights and prerogatives. All of this violates the Constitution, the rule of law, and every past precedent. Never before in our history has the House of Representatives–under the control of either political party–taken the American people down the dangerous path you seem determined to pursue.

Put simply, you seek to overturn the results of the 2016 election and deprive the American people of the President they have freely chosen. Many Democrats now apparently view impeachment not only as a means to undo the democratic results of the last election, but as a strategy to influence the next election, which is barely more than a year away. As one member of Congress explained, he is “concerned that ifwe don’t impeach the President, he will get reelected.”1 Your highly partisan and unconstitutional effort threatens grave and lasting damage to our democratic institutions, to our system of free elections, and to the American people.

Never will the MSM even mention this letter. It undoes all their lies.

His point: a “majority” is not being disenfranchised. The red, while overwhelming by area, does not represent a majority of people.

Which was the point of creating this country, and the Electoral College: _individual_ rights matter most; just because a few dense areas outnumber the occupants of “flyover country” doesn’t mean the former gets to boss around the latter. We are a nation of united _states_, each of which representing the interests of those living in that region against the interests of those living under distinctly different circumstances. The EC ensures the minority is not inevitably trod upon by the majority, to the point that the minority may win choice of President.

The correct interpretation of the map: a minority, weighted to expose the disparate nature of this country and take the interest of cumulative greater regions into account, respects the greater disparity of interests sharing common solutions. To wit, this is the Founders’ solution to “tolerance and diversity”, superior to progressives’ high density of localized interests dominating all.

I know the point.

My point is that knowing the point doesn't dissuade me from engaging in psyops against the uninformed, since that's the weapon being used against us.

Dems: We should impeach Trump because Trump is not cooperating with being impeached.

Trump never cooperates....with being railroaded.

The true point is that the red areas ARE disenfranchised when the Democrats refuse a full House vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry.

The red areas ARE disenfranchised when Pelosi and Schiff refuse to let minority members of the Intelligence Committee participate in the process.

The red areas ARE disenfranchised when Pelosi and Schiff move to hide the identity of the so-called whistleblower from Republicans on the committee.

The Speaker of the House is refusing to let the representatives of half the country, and some entire states, be heard.

A better reply would be to string them up. That’s what The Founders would have done with rats like these. Were they alive today they’d be wondering to High Heaven why we hadn’t done so.

Keep in mind the DNC was stealing hard core in 2018.

They were bragging about voting multiple times and getting illegal alien votes, dead votes, etc....

The RED areas represent the American people who are being disenfranchised from the impeachment process.

And cows. Lots of cows.

This is the President Trump I voted for. He has excellent instincts. Whenever he tried to reach common ground with opponents (including most of the Republican Party establishment), things have gone poorly. I’m also hearing less from Jared and Ivanka. That’s good. Eric and his wife are the family members who have embraced and articulated the values of President Trump and the Deplorables.. JMHO

This impeachment fiasco just might be the big mistake by the Dems that brings more people to our views. Pelosi and the maniacs announced they were starting impeachment investigations, without a vote or any legal necessities, then took off for ANOTHER vacation, for two weeks. Meanwhile, the Deep State and their media co-conspirators run amuk making up stuff for impeachment. I wish we could trust the “conservative” Supreme Court to put an end to this coup.

If I were in Trumps shoes I’d run on this letter. I’d read it to the American people every chance I got.

Its a great response to the idiots in Congress.

There reaction was priceless, stuttering and stammering and looking guilty like they are prosecuting a crime that was never committed and that they have no evidence.

implemented your inquiry in a maimer that violates fundamental fairness

How did they get the word "maimer" in here? The actual letter has "manner." All they had to do was to copy and paste.

“As you know, you have designed and implemented your inquiry in a maimer that”

I hope this error is not in the letter sent, doesn’t the White House have spell check?

"The red represents district boundaries, e.g. land, not people."

Nope. District boundaries are so drawn as to encompass equal populations of people. They do NOT adhere to physical (land) boundaries. Legislative majorities of both parties strive to draw boundaries to encompass populations with majorities of "their" party as much as possible.

That map depicts the cumulative districts controlled by Republicans, e.g. land.

All that matters is who have the most representatives in Congress and rule the House. That would be the democrats.

Thus they represent more people than the Republicans.

"That map depicts the cumulative districts controlled by Republicans, e.g. land."

No, the map depicts cumulative districts controlled by both parties (note that it has two colors). Red by Republicans, blue by Democrats.

BUT....each individual denoted area of land "represents" (at least in theory) an equal number of people.

And yes, currently, Democrats control more of these equally populated chunks of land than Republicans do.
