Walmart Open Carry Ban - Lexington, Kentucky

This video takes a look at what happens when you open-carry with a pistol in a Walmart store. The location is Lexington, Kentucky and this man was permanently banned from all Walmart's in the USA.

Do not blame the police as they are doing there job by request of Wally World. Whether business or personal property, you can have a person permanently removed and banned from re-entering. Your thoughts about this?

The 2A gives citizens the absolute right to carry firearms.

Now suppose a state - for whatever reason - allows concealed carry only. I don’t see how that violates the 2A.

So the 2nd amendment is "absolute" -- except when it's not. Got it.

Much like saying the Supremacy clause is absolute -- except when the states disagree. Right!

I agree that it is a conditioning thing.

But here’s the problem. Open carrying is a hassle. It’s a risk/reward thing. Conceal carry is easier, and I sometimes do when in a high risk area. But open carry is really not all that practical.

I don’t carry my phone on one of those belt clips either.

Don't blame the police? Didn't you hear that cop pontificate on how wrong exercising your second amendment right is?

One of the comments below the vid is a guy who apparently knows some more about the situation. He said the guy with the handgun prior to the cops showing up was sitting in a lawn chair in the store showing off his gun for some social media site. So, it sounds like he was trying to provoke some sort of response and brought undue attention to himself—once again making things worse for responsible owners.

I think open carry is just dumb.....why give up the element of surprise?
Also, I know that open carry can upset some people. I can understand why a mom picking up a quart of milk at the dairy case, with her baby in the cart, might become flustered at the sight of a cocked and locked 1911 riding on somebody’s hip. I have no interest in frightening people.

Exactly. There is the real world in which we have to live. If we’re living in a war zone, sure, open carry. But I don’t want our streets looking like the streets in the movie “Black Hawk Down”.

I like to think we are a bit more civilized than that.

Its about educating what has become an uneducated public wrt guns and safe gun handling. That mom wouldn't know cocked and locked from any other state of the gun, but she should be educated on the fact that a holstered gun is not a threat. I do agree that given the uneducated state of our society, CC is a better option in very public settings.

It's called a PROTEST.

There are THOUSANDS of Hong Kong-ers "calling undue attention to themselves" by flying American Flags and banners that say "Make Hong Kong Great Again".

They are "making it worse" for all law-abiding sheeple in Hong Kong!

But when seven cops show up and treat Constitutional carry like a crime, then lecture the "violator" with absurd rhetoric, then tell you to sign a yellow-dog contract, under implied threat of arrest, well.... they're just doing their job! Just like the Communist Chicoms are doing in Hong Kong. Got it!! Let's not rock the boat! We might lose social points....

Come to think of it, there are many sheeple here at FR.

He could just walk in dressed in all black, including a black bandana over his face. No one in Wally World could recognize him, & they probably would be afraid he was Antifa, and not mess with him.

Far worse is Walmart’s decision not to sell pistol ammo they deem dangerous, and some rifle ammo too.

“Simple employee training is paramount. A gun in a holster is not a threat. “

That is illogical to people who have been raised to think the very presence of a gun is cause for panic. In their minds it’s guns kill, not people doing the killing.

Your position advocates and incremental approach to the finality of a total gun ban.

Don’t infringe upon someone’s constitutional right just because it makes you feel uncomfortable.

>>>There is no “element of surprise” in a defensive situation, except your surprise when they steal your piece along with your wallet<<<

I have no idea what you are saying.

I was pointing out that a Criminal will target someone open carrying. The surprise is when the intended Victim or a bystander carries concealed without the Criminal being aware of it.

Maybe Walmart doesn’t want to deal with the loons who freak out & start shrieking “EEEEK, he’s got a GUN!!” every time they see a holstered pistol.
They’d have a panicky stampede a dozen times every day in every store.
Plus, there are the even loonier loons who will actually try to GRAB your gun while hollering “CITIZEN’S ARREST!”

Walmart is only banning OPEN carry.
For everybody’s sake, just carry concealed.

“And once you leave the street and walk into a private business, you are subject to their rules.”

"Where that authoritatively written?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Read the signs in my #44.
Texas is a strong Property Rights State. I could post such signs at the entrance to my long driveway, if I wished -- and they would carry the full force of Texas trespass law. But, I won't so insult my friends and relatives -- who know they're welcome on my place (and are not trespassing)!
So -- I posted a simple, "No Trespassing" sign (which bears the same force of Texas law) for the edification of solicitors, Jehovah's Witnesses, and such...
The next step is for walmart to call the cops for someone wearing a shirt like this in the store.
Agree, but this is an opportunity to correct that thinking. You wont change the hard core leftist, but the young minds of mush stocking the Walmart shelves are an opportunity for some one so inclined.
