Unfortunately the weather was less than cooperative so all we saw were some fly-by's of each. Still, it was darn impressive to see them all and I'll say this: those F-35's and F-22's are sure noisy! Damn, it vibrated right through us on the boat while we were out on Lake Michigan.
Hope the weather for this event is much, much better than we had in Chicago. I'm pretty sure the pilots were as disappointed as we were with the weather although the low fly-by's made for some good video and great pictures!
should be some great video
T-birds and Reds in AC yesterday. Great show!
This sounds like a photo op more than an aerial display. Recall AF1 doing the same over Manhattan when the kenyan was POTUS.
I worked at PW in the experimental airfoil group during the development of the PW5000 now known as the F119 engine. There is a reason it’s noisy.. Power generated in a small tube = noise by the exiting gases. The only thing we didn’t get it to do was having the engine whistle Dixie during spin up.
Nothing more American than that, IMO. God Bless and keep our Military!!
Ive got the DVR going on it. Was leaving for a Wound Care Clinic Appointment just as it came on. If nobody puts it on Scru-U-toob Ill see if I can edit out that time line, I set the DVR FOR 1 hour.
Wow, thank you for the ping!
Outstanding videos. Quite the inventory, especially the opening act- a McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom jet. It could be flying out of Nellis AFB as part of their Warsaw Pact/Soviet era OPFOR assets.
Thanks!
i remember that
Actually it was only about 20 seconds and a very long distance shot.
Video of the NY City flyby I found online (someone sent it to me):

Thanx. I watched a bunch on YouTube, tho sadly most didn’t really catch the sound of the jets
They flew pretty high.
