Conservatives may find solace in the judicial effort Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made today. As he unveiled next week's agenda, McConnell moved to vote on the lifetime appointments of 19 district court judges... - and they are likely to be confirmed.

Cocaine Mitch is getting it done!

Teeing up enough to cover the whole August recess, without slowing down. He has been running like a judge per workday, since invoking the nuclear option.

Good because one of the bastards Obama appointed just blocked Trump’s asylum order. After another judge had given it the go.

The Twitter DNC b*tch Scott "Dork Squattin" Dworkin is tweeting about #MoscowMitch.

I retweeted his tweet with the "19 District judges next week" headline.

Why? It's not like he just became Senate Majority or Minority Leader. It is so easy to nitpick everything as everyone on this website does over and over and over and over and over again and again and again. I know every time I open a McConnell thread it is nothing but whining like you could do better.

If he had 60 votes, I wouldn't give him much slack, but he has 53 and he has to keep most every Repub happy since we know there are those who are unreliable.

I would love to see if you could do any better. You would be a mess.

So is this it, only 19 judges before the recess.

CA, NJ, and NY have a sheetload of District judge vacancies that the baad republicans won’t allow the rats to fill. Or so they might say.

3 months or so something changed. NY got a lot of nominations including US Attorney’s. McConnell backed down and gave in for Schumer’s home state. Maybe an olive branch but with conditions?

Will this 19 be followed by another 19 then another. In the first 19 no suspect judges from NY are in it. Will any be in a second or third group before turtle allows a recess to occur.

Do not allow any NY judge or prosecutor be confirmed until GOP gets what they want. Save the NY bunch until right before recess.

Recess start is tentatively Aug 2. It can be delayed until X and Y happen. What does Turtle want?

Most of the judges in this first 19 are from districts in flyover country. We get ours first.

Whitehouse does the nominating. We allowed weak judges into NY to get through the blue slip blockade. We did not back down for CA or NJ yet.

Why, bargaining chips maybe. We hold the cards.

This:

“...According to a senior Democratic aide, five of the 19 judicial pics on the list came from Democratic senators. McConnell filing cloture to break potential filibusters of the nominees is an indication there has not yet been a deal on a bipartisan nominations package to expedite the work of confirming the judges....”

Comes from this linked article:

https://www.rollcall.com/news/congress/mcconnell-plans-pass-budget-deal-suspend-debt-limit-confirm-19-trumps-judges-august-recess

I don’t know if any of these 5 District Judges who “came from Democratic Senators” are the type of agendanista Judges who will act to enjoin President Trump whenever possible — but I fear the DemocRATS will try to sneak such appointees in. Lindsey Graham should ELIMINATE THE BLUE-SLIP VETO FOR DISTRICT JUDGESHIPS and then we won’t have to kiss DemocRAT butt and do their bidding.

19 not enough. How many judge vacancies with nominees from states that have at least one GOP senator. All get confirmed before a recess will happen.

Make it hurt. Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Pocahontas need to prep for debates.

Maybe CA and NJ have mostly vacancies without nominees because they want extremists and McConnell won’t back down.

Choke on this Chuckie.

It looks like McConnell has found his forte. Face it... individual politicians aren’t necessarily good at every possible thing in politics, and may even frustrate purists. That is a very minor matter as long as they are good at what counts. Last time I looked, still nobody was perfect. I sure wish I knew where the cadre of perfect politicians was supposed to come from. Not earth. We could launch a search on Venus or Mars maybe.

Trump has done a credible job on Circuit Court judges.

Trump’s District judges look downright frightening.

58 of the 86 nominations were confirmed by a voice vote or with the support of at least 20 Democrat Senators.
