So is this it, only 19 judges before the recess.

CA, NJ, and NY have a sheetload of District judge vacancies that the baad republicans won’t allow the rats to fill. Or so they might say.

3 months or so something changed. NY got a lot of nominations including US Attorney’s. McConnell backed down and gave in for Schumer’s home state. Maybe an olive branch but with conditions?

Will this 19 be followed by another 19 then another. In the first 19 no suspect judges from NY are in it. Will any be in a second or third group before turtle allows a recess to occur.

Do not allow any NY judge or prosecutor be confirmed until GOP gets what they want. Save the NY bunch until right before recess.

Recess start is tentatively Aug 2. It can be delayed until X and Y happen. What does Turtle want?

Most of the judges in this first 19 are from districts in flyover country. We get ours first.

That is what I suspect - that Schumer had to provide things of value to sway the Judge picks in New York, that he used to control for free with blue slips.

Schumer is a backroom wheeler/dealer, and he does have a lot to offer, as the Democrat leader in the Senate. We will probably never know what he gave up, but the President knows him well for a long time, and the President knows how to drive a hard bargain.

Great, make NY more of a liberal hellhole than it already is.
