Boris Johnson, the Brexiteer who has promised to lead Britain out of the European Union with or without a deal by the end of October, will replace Theresa May as prime minister after winning the leadership of the Conservative Party on Tuesday... May will leave office on Wednesday after going to Buckingham Palace to see Queen Elizabeth, who will formally appoint Johnson.

“We are going to get Brexit done on Oct. 31, and we are going to take advantage of all the opportunities it will bring in a new spirit of ‘can do’,” Johnson, 55, said after the result was announced.

President Trump was very complimentary of the UK's new Prime Minister today.

It looks like Brexit will happen this time - on Halloween, this year.

The international connivings of our deep state failed to undermine common sense again.

“tell me if the queen really has to appoint him, or if its just for show.”

Its a bit of both.

The Monarch has more of a veto over the ruling Party’s pick, rather than an ability to appoint who they want, but there is some constitutional power.

Ceremonially though, the appointment meeting of a new PM with the monarch, is kind of like a show of blessing/annointment.

The British left is crazier than the US left. They will not waste any time trashing their new “Donald Trump.”

Theresa May is likely fit to be tied.
Nevertheless, she also has likely concealed various hurdles, obstacles and trapdoors all meant to slow Boris on his quest to get Brexit done.

Sort of like how Obama left the situation on Obamacare.

It gets lost in the name we usually use, but he is “her majesty’s first minister”.

The EU is quacking (sic) with fear
Apropos for that time of year
Bureauquacks in Brussels faint
Nederlanders in wood shoes so quaint
Now know how the EU will become ain’t.
