How health care can make Republicans winners in 2020
Fox News.com ^ | July 18, 2019 | Tom Del Beccaro

Posted on 07/18/2019 2:18:12 PM PDT by Kaslin

Most Democrats running for president are promising to take away your private health care insurance in favor of a government-run health care system.

Along with the tax-raising implications of that promise, Democrats have given Republicans a remarkable opening in 2020: Winning an election on health care.

Here’s how they can do it.

First, the Democrats have locked themselves into positions that are beyond illogical. Consider these two Democratic positions:

1. They are demanding the end of private health insurance BECAUSE they say most Americans don’t have ACCESS to affordable health care.

AT THE SAME TIME . . .

2. Democrats are demanding that America provide free health care for millions of people here illegally and many more to come – a policy that would overwhelm our health care system. Press feasts on AOC vs. Pelosi feud

Think about that: If Americans already have an access problem, how does adding millions to health care rolls solve that? Obviously, it doesn’t.

To the contrary, that policy will lead to millions more consumers and therefore even longer lines at the doctors. Longer lines are a form of rationed health care. After all, if you have to wait longer to see a doctor, by definition that reduces the amount of times you can see a doctor, which is the equivalent of rationing.

They didn’t repeal Obamacare when they had the majority in congress. Nobody is going to believe them now.

I always wonder why both parties don’t extend their health benefits to their constituents???

What’s good enough for our politicians should be just fine for we the people!

Problem solved!!

But they didn’t have the super majority in the Senate and still don’t have it.

The practice of government "providing" thimgs to people has always proven to be a doomed vote-buying scheme.

Government mustn't keep trying...and failing...to "give" health care or insurance to people.

Government needs to remove the obstacles to freedom, and let private companies offer their services in a free and open market.

Thankfully, the article offers some ways to do just that.

There’s a very real chance that the Supreme Court will strike down Obamacare next June. At that time the Republicans will have to explain how they will deal with pre-existing condition coverage, caps on insurance coverage, and coverage for dependent children to age 26. All that goes away and nothing Del Beccaro is proposing deals with that.

But they didn’t have the super majority in the Senate and still don’t have it.

Under the reconciliation process they were using at the time they didn't need 60 votes. A simple majority would have done it and they couldn't even come up with that.

Any attempt at health care reform in the non- government (outside Medicare, Medicaid, VA, Indian) should be scuttled.

Send it all back to the states. I’m so tired of so-called conservatives clamoring for healthcare reform by advocating for Federal “solutions” in the non-socialized sectors. We should go back to catastrophic plans with HSAs, high risk state pools. If some states want more socialism, let them have it as long as the federal taxpayer is not exposed.

The Federal government has destroyed this nation. It’s time we fight back against Federal tyranny at all levels.

“”It’s time we fight back against Federal tyranny at all levels.””

I’m convinced that I’ll see that in my lifetime and on scales that make the 1860s seem like a family picnic.

Right.

In Nov. 2018 and in recap interviews by analysts on right leaning talk shows (my only kind) I heard “Yes, the House candidate there was hurt by the perception that the GOP would let the insurance industry ban pre-existing conditions....”

Guests would say “I know, I agree but the Dems got several points to win based on that.”

I still hear Dems say “We need a fair healthcare system, not one that benefits the big insurance companies and rich Republicans. And they want to take away your Social Security, too. You have to vote Dem.”

Therefore, and I am serious: There has to be a ceremony and an ad on TV with the GOP raising their right hands and stating “I swear that pre-existing conditions will not be excluded from any health plan we endorse.”

You can bet the Dems will have ads saying the opposite is endorsed by the GOP. And panels on all the media shows.

Government regulation, Insurance company cost of doing business, pharmacy benefit managers, all kinds of middlemen exist. Their cost can be established plus or minus 2%.

Pass a law that doctors can charge their cost directly to the patient if the patient pays cash, including credit card within 30 days of service. Create an incentive to take all the middle men out of the business.

The direct result of this would be that suddenly the cost of all the middle men will drop by 50%.

'Cuz, of course, (R) begin any "debate" accepting the (D) premises.... "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.” ― James Madison

Too dam stupid to take advantage of it. A RNC fundraiser called me today with the typical do you support Trump and will you support us taking back the House? And I asked him for what reason? You had the House with Paul Ryan, the prospective VP candidate you told use to support along with Mitt Romney, and both are traitors to Trump, so ipsofacto, you don’t support Trump either. Just dropping his name to extort money. Go Phuck yourselves! Then I hung up.
