Im worried about 2020, I think its 50-50. I think its a coin flip, said Ted Cruz, the Republican U.S. Senator from Texas. The 2020 presidential race happens when the country is deeply divided. It is an incredibly polarized country, he said. I think it all comes down to turnout.
I think the Left is going to show up in massive numbers, he continued. And it all comes down to who shows up on the center-right.
Ted Cruz was on the Ben Shapiro Show Sunday when, 45-minutes into the interview, Shapiro asked Cruz for his assessment of the 2020 election cycle. That is when Cruz warned that the Democrats could sweep both houses of congress and win the presidency. Then they will proceed to perform great harm to the country, he said. [ ]
I think the Democrats will nominate someone from the far left, Cruz predicted. He said one of four declared candidates, between Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Robert Beto ORourke, or Elizabeth Warren, will win the Democrat Party nomination to run for president. He gave an outside chance that Pete Buttigieg could emerge in the final four. Hes stolen some of Betos thunder, he said. [ ]
Every Leftist is going to show up at the polls and they will crawl over broken glass to get there. They hate Donald Trump with a white-hot passion. Youre going to see Democrats in areas where you didnt know there were any Democrats. Theyre going to crawl out of the woodwork, he said.

No one wants to hear this opinion, but we need to stay aware of all possibilities, and take nothing for granted.
Just to borrow from Stacey Abrams, I have no doubt that the “documented and undocumented” will be trying to get to the polls. Enough were kept away to keep her out of office, and that’s what needs to be kept up. (Notice Cruz does not say the “f” word, meaning “fraud”.)
That’s quite absent from anything he says.
Teds putting out a I hope Im wrong bet on high Democrat turnout in 2020. Interestingly, I think white-hot Trump hate has cooled down to merely red-hot. There may have been some folks who didnt vote in 2016, figuring Hillary would either win it or successfully steal it. But I think Trump has won enough hearts and minds to secure another term. But we cant be complacent. We have to work at least as hard and with the same optimism and confidence that we had in 2016.
Cruz was my primary pick in 2016, but hes low on my list if he decides to try again. The Senator has about as much power as I care to entrust him with.
[Thats quite absent from anything he says.]
Regardless of any fear that one may have, he’s right. Toss in a level of voter fraud and ballot harvesting that would never be thought imaginable and there is definitely something to worry about. The Left will do everything and anything in its power to get back to the White House. If they do and all the Oath Keepers & 3%’ers are true to their word, we’ll be engaged in CW2 by next summer as they begin an all-out assault on everything and our borders are opened up like never before.
So, make fun of or insult him, however you want, November 2020 is the most important election in this nations history.
He’s not talking about voter fraud. He’s acting like these are legitimate votes.
They hated him in 2016.
The rats are overwhelmingly watching their buddies at CNN to the tune of a whooping 750,000 per day. That tells me that 98% of their fellow rodents aren’t sober enough to care about politics. Let’s hope that they party all the way through November 2020.
He still has a point, though. November is going to be ugly.
If that were his point, yes. However, piling FUD onto the threat from the left is no way to rally support against the left.
California I can see having a large enough bloc of effectively stifled R-votes that they could punch above their expected weight in a district or two. But where is the same for Democrats? The Dems cheat as it is in toss-up states. Theyre making inroads in the last big Red state, too: Texas.
Maybe there will be a higher turnout of genuine, legally-enrolled Democrats than in the past. I just think vote fraud on their part is the bigger problem.
I like Ted. I even voted for him in the ‘16 primary, but the fact that he thinks Beto could win the Dem nomination raises serious questions about the value of Ted’s analysis of the situation. Beto is a joke of a
candidate (among many joke candidates). No one is (or should be) taking him seriously at this point. The only way Ted’s inclusion of him is not a sign of serious delusional thinking on Ted’s part is that if Ted is merely being self-serving (e.g.,”Boy, that guy I just beat last years sure is a powerhouse. Yea, me.”).
There isn’t even the hint of implication of cheating in anything he’s saying there.
And why would he fear de-legitimizing” an illegitimate “victory”? Does he not want to fight this?
CA is a lost cause.
I agree. Sadly, this could happen. It already happened in California.
Hopefully the Trump team is aware and has a plan to deal with it.
I think his point is that Trump supporters need to keep their energy level high all the way to the election. Couldn’t agree more.
