Seventy-five conservative groups signed a public letter to Congress opposing any carbon tax days after reports that Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney openly considered backing carbon tax bill.
We oppose any carbon tax, conservative groups, led by Americans for Tax Reform, wrote in their letter, which was published online Monday morning.
While the letter is not specifically aimed at Romney, its meant to warn Republicans that their conservative base is not in favor of taxing carbon dioxide emissions.

If Romney switched parties (and he wont; he understandsas McCain did before himthat he can do far more damage from within the party), would the voters of Utah still support him?
Mitt sure knows how to identify winning issues!
Romney is a full blown communist
Now I know why he let on Obama win
“We need money. any way is good- we need money! Tell the rubes whatever works: we neecd money!”
Mitt don’t give a ... darn
If Mittens won in 2012, the Hildebeast would be POTUS now.
Theses groups must not be “severely conservative” like Milt is.
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.
But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”
― Taylor Caldwell, A Pillar of Iron
O am embarrassed that I voted for this guy some years back. I’m sorry.
72 years old and first term senator and people act like hes important. I hate that I voted for this fool in 2012.
Hairdo needs to go torture another dog and leave the rest of us alone. He doesn't belong in office -- any office.
Mittens and his buddies in the hedge fund world have figured out how much money they could make off this government boondoggle.
“Mitt dont give a ... darn”
Language, please. LOL!
BTW, I died laughing when Ed Rollins told Lou Dobbs something regarding the Rats was “bullshit!”. Then he realized what he had done, and I guess he has to pay a fine to the FCC or something.
Mitt is a waste of carbon
And that gun control bill that died in Congress in 2013 would now be law.
He sure loves the old days when he thought he was loved and admired - but simply thought of as a moron...
Indeed, I voted for this idiot too. Rino losers, should lose hard, with zero electoral votes, shamed, tarred and feather. None of this sympathetic support. I fear Jebb Bush would have neared that result. It was a scam.
The ONLY THING that matters in the Senate is whether our people vote for nominees, specifically judicial.
So far Romney’s done well there - even being the dick that he is (certainly much better than any Democrat, including Manchin).
No surprise that #FakeConservative MittWit Romney believes in the #FakeScience of GlobalClimateWarmingChange.
