Romney: Mueller report did not show obstruction, 'I don't think impeachment is the right way to go'

Soon after Rep. Justin Amash, R-Mich., went against the GOP consensus by claiming President Trump committed "impeachable conduct" in the form of obstruction of justice, another known Trump critic took the opposite position.

Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, acknowledged that while he has called out Trump when he's deemed it appropriate, he does not believe the Mueller report provided evidence that supports impeaching the president.

"I just don’t think that there is the full element that you’d need to prove an obstruction of justice case," Romney told host Jake Tapper on CNN's State of the Union on Sunday, while acknowledging, "Everyone reaches their own conclusion."

Still, Romney said he "was troubled by it," but did not feel the allegations laid out in the report were enough to rise to the standard of an obstruction charge.

Romney? That cult leader who makes his dog ride on the roof of the car and hasn't paid taxes in a decade?

Which one of his wives told you this?

Mealy mouthed leech, as always giving suck to any old teet he finds floppin’ around! Never producing sustenance for others, but only giving suck. Serial abuser of many teets.

“The leech has two daughters, Give! and Give!”—Proverbs

And a sucking son named Mitt.

Lol!

If there was actual obstruction, many would want Trump indicted and convicted. There is no “there” there.

Still, Romney said he “was troubled by it,” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He was never “troubled” by anything his fellow democrat hussein said or did.

Mister Romney, as with Kasich, Jeb, McCain, and a few other GOPe-ers are deservedly humiliated by the fact that President Trump won the election (or nom) that they could not, and Trump is succeeding by being the Republican that they claimed to be; however, everyone including the above knew they could never be.

Their weaknesses and squishiness on what should be rock-solid principles are on display every time Trump has another victory.

Embarrassment and jealousy and vengeance, all at the same time.

Poor Poor Democrats, they lost an election and now spend 4 years trying to prove something was amiss rather than do what they were elected and paid to do. It’s time to abolish congress.

It seems as though little Mitty might have “got his mind right” in this particular circumstance.

Mueller could have chosen to say 'obstruction' in the report but that wouldn't have made it actual obstruction. There was no crime, so there was nothing to obstruct. Trump was never actually accused of anything despite the media hammering on it 24/7, or Trump would have been the first person Mueller interviewed. But he didn't - because there was nothing. Even Mueller knew from day 1 the Steele Dossier was bogus and if he had an ounce of integrity he wouldn't even have taken up the case. So how could there be obstruction ? What is a shame is that so many Republicans, either deliberately or naively, held on to the possibility that Trump might have been guilty of "collusion" or "obstruction". If the Mueller Report did say Trump was guilty of obstruction it would have been every bit horse manure as it would be if it said Trump was guilty of collusion. And the Romney's and Jeb's would have jumped at that opportunity demanding impeachment. That's why my rhetorical question "would Romney stand up and shout for impeachment?". Of course he would.

The right way to go is to kick Romney into retirement.
