At least 11 people were killed after a gunman opened fire at a municipal building in Virginia Beach, Virginia, police Chief James Cervera told reporters Friday night.
The shooter also is dead, Cervera said.
The shooter was a public utilities worker, he said.

The Virginia Pilot says he was a current employee. I’m guessing the folks there would have updated the story to say he had been fired.

Ironically, the VBPD was going to have an active shooter training session today in cooperation with WAVY news 10. I was just going through the Twitter feed of the police department and the sheriff’s office and saw that tweeted yesterday morning.
