Mobile home parks in Manhattan hit worst!
Im in Essex county and were told to seek shelter. Daughter and i went to the basement, but things quieted down in a couple of minutes. First time that has ever happened here.
In MO we use Watch. ..means could occur
Warning. ..means hook echo and tornado on the ground.
We all know that going from Watch to Warning can happen really fast. Always keep a radio handy.
ROFL!!
There was a threat today about a weatherman who got mad because people were upset that tornado warnings interrupted The Bachelor.
I said I can’t relate. I don’t even recall the last TV interruption because of weather...
Again, coincidences happen and only our minds make them more than that.
I GUESS it was a coincidence.
Don’t REMEMBER the last time there was a tornado warning on Staten Island..
I’m sure it happened.
Coincidences...God’s way of keeping us REALLY confused! :)
“Daughter and i went to the basement”
So did my niece in Chatham with her baby after they got an alert, saw a report earlier that radar had detected a rotation near Summit.
Was watching ABC out of KC at 8pm tonight. ...they had two monsters touch down on the air. Missed downtown KC but took out a few smaller neighboring towns.
Yeah the TV fools were in OH.
Dayton got slammed hard.
Tv weather news out of STL has the best storm equipment I’ve seen. They really know their stuff. When they cut in, you better pay attention because something bad is coming.
A tornado in NYC would be very scary. I guess the subways are the best fallout shelters?
LOL!!
Warning was canceled.
Thank goodness!!
We have friends and family, in NYC.
Prayers up that these storms quickly pass over the area, and out to the sea.
What about a touchdown at Gracie Mansion?
What is DeBlasio’s address? Hey tornado, do your thang!
Meshugge.

I apologize for my assumption. I think I’d still prefer a warning that is issued when rotation is observed, even if it never formed a tornado.
I’ve never seen a trailer park in NYC - parking is so expensive! But the homeless who camp out there are about as close to it as you can get, I guess.
Yes subways would definitely be best.
But we have none on staten island.
I have a basement that is finished so we stayed down here for an hour or so but I was never really concerned.
There’s states where when you hear that warning, there’s a GOOD CHANCE it will come to fruition!! I wish it wasn’t so.
Would be shocking here. We ended up with thunderstorm and hail but no tornado.
Frankly, if I saw one coming, having never seen one before, it would scare the life out of me...
There have been seven confirmed tornadoes across the city of New York in the years since 1974, and no other reported tornadoes in the city before then, according to data that dates as far back as 1950. .
