Are Democrats choosing to lose?
Washington Examiner ^ | Ma 28,2019 | Noemie Emery

Did the Democrats pick the wrong electoral cycle to jump their particular abortion-cheering, fetus-destroying, and sensibility-unsettling shark? For a certain kind of Republican voter, who has problems with Donald Trump’s temperament and with the programmatic agenda of the national Democrats, the decision to vote”‘no” on the Democrats and on their agenda just got a whole lot easier.

What 2016 proved is that people will vote for someone they don’t like if the opposition is made to seem even less attractive. That’s precisely what the Left’s new approach to abortion is likely to do. In 2016, Will says, ”[Democrats] produced a candidate whom Donald Trump defeated by 17 points among the 18 percent of voters who had negative views of both him and her. ... he won by 51 points among the 15 percent of the electorate who thought neither was qualified to be president.”

Voters have proved that they will vote for Trump. He was elected by people who didn't much like him. Will this be the result in the 2020 election? We’ll see.

It's a myth that people who voted for Trump don't like him. If they are saying that, it's only because they have been bullied into saying so or they want to "qualify" their vote to avoid getting into an argument.

You know, the old "I didn't really want to vote for him because I don't like his temperament and demeanor" nonsense because they are too gutless to admit that they are strong supporters of Trump and would have happily voted for him even if a right-of-center Democrat was running.

Fact is, whether they care to admit it or not, those who voted for Trump the first time loved him and will absolutely vote for him a second time.

Trump will NOT lose 2016 votes in 2020. The only question remains whether or not Trump will win more voters over to his side to overcome the very strong anti-Trump vote that the Left will turn out - motivated purely by hate and embarrassment of defeat in 2016.

The Black and Hispanic numbers (for Trump) are very encouraging by the way. They show that those two groups are increasing their pro-Trump numbers.

I don’t believe they are choosing to lose, but I suspect most of the 2020 contenders are really running just to position themselves as frontrunners for 2024.

“... choosing to lose?”

I highly doubt it what with the very real possibility that PDJT would be able to appoint one, maybe two, and maybe as many as three more Supreme Court Associate justices. And to allow the R Senate to continue to confirm Fed judges all over the country, maybe even swinging the Ninth Circus? No way.

The left will come out swinging with all they have. They have perfected the legal procedures needed to swing close elections their way. Post-election vote harvesting has been proven to be very successful and will be used next year. Every dirty trick possible will be in play.

Question: has anyone heard anything from the Republican camp doing anything about vote harvesting? Restricting ‘sanctuary’ laws? I have not.

No, if any political party could be accused of wanting to lose, it is the Rs.

I don’t think it’s a choice. I think the proof in the pudding of what Trump has accomplished in two and a partial years has them already beat. But they are going down harming anything that gets within reach and will use this type of scorched earth political combat to sell their control of the house so they will have a foot in the door to slow Trump. And they don’t care who they piss off as their voting base is filed with enough low educated, or welfare recipients they have trapped in the system, to keep the house.

They are building for 2024 when Trump has to step down. This large amount of candidates for the 2020 slot can’t be real intelligent as they will spread the vote to other parties as they eliminate candidates through the media attacks until they have it for one that many won’t vote for.

I’m not sure if they are trying to lose, but we (President Trump voters) need to go out and campaign for him as if America is at steak...because it is...

If the Democrats have more voters in The Blue states it makes no difference...

It comes down to the midwest and Pennsylvania.

It is really the economy..if hot on Election Day I see no problem...

The polls mean nothing anymore look a the elections in Europe
