Jefferson City, the capital city of Missouri, has taken a direct hit from a tornado and suffered possibly catastrophic damage, according to reports.
According to the National Weather Service, a confirmed large and destructive tornado was observed over Jefferson City, at 11:43 p.m., moving northeast at 40 mph.

I was watching it live and it had my heart in my throat ..... as I also wished I was there with them. LOL
It’s at the top of my bucket list but I know I’ll never get to do it.

Jefferson City tornado has been rated EF-3 which is part of the reason for an absence of any death toll, had it been a bit stronger who knows ... the one that went through suburbs of Joplin on the same day was an EF-4 (three killed there).
EF-3 damage is usually along the lines of roofs ripped off and partial wall collapse, EF-4 can be full structural collapse. But if an EF-3 hits a trailer park then you get into multiple fatalities as the outcome.
My stomach gets upset just seeing that photo. Green skies have done that all my life.
