Applicants for teaching positions at the University of California’s many campuses now have to prove their commitment to the institution’s various “diversity” initiatives.
According to a report from Campus Reform, the University of California has instituted a policy that requires all applicants for teaching positions to commit to the institution’s “diversity” statement. Applicants are asked to write a statement in which they explain how they will advance the university’s diversity initiatives.
A page on the UC San Diego website details the commitment that applicants must make to advancing the various diversity causes that the UC system has adopted: The Division of Physical Sciences at UC San Diego has a strong interest in ensuring that all candidates hired for faculty appointments, regardless of personal demographic characteristics, share our commitment to excellence, access and Principles of Community. All candidates applying for faculty appointments within the division are required to submit a 1-2 page Contributions to Diversity statement. The purpose of the statement is to identify candidates who have the professional skills, experience, and/or willingness to engage in activities that will advance our campus equity, diversity and inclusion goals. The statement should outline the candidate’s understanding of, past contributions to, and future plans to enhance equity, diversity, and inclusion in higher education. When writing these statements, we encourage candidates to provide specific information on the motivation, duration, and impact of their outreach and mentoring activities.

This diversity nonsense went so bad at Intel that it was one of the reasons the previous CEO was fired.

I'd turn in a piece of graph paper showing where math and diversity intersect.
Actually, I think this diversity intiative is the result of emabracing post-modernism in academia. They totally reject Christian values. They posit that there is no universal morality or value systems. Thus, they are adrift in a sea with no moral moorings.
They know that this is not right. So they try to build their own moral compass from the ground up. And along the way, they require others to subscribe to their moral agenda.
Multi-culturalism, a tenet of post-modernism, insists that all cultures have equal values and we must not judge between them. (That, by the way, is how they get around being bothered by the human slavery sanctioned by the Muslims.)
The proper way to meet this is to force them to use their own postmodern tenets; i.e., since there are no proper criteria by which to judge other cultures, then WHY DO YOU SUBJECT ME TO YOURS?!?!

In the old Soviet Union, there were the heavily politicized disciplines in the universities, but science, engineering, medicine, ... etc. were left to get on with their work.
In the Progressive Totalitarian Woke Campus, no-one is exempt from their garbage !
The pagan institutions of “higher learning” in Ancient Rome have disappeared without a trace. And these nonsensical PC Woke Universities are going to the same fate.

...start a private school....or have cogent anti school indoctrination ideas countered at home or with others of the same or familiar mind. Or...home school...
The goal is to take down the cop on the beat who has the strength, the values, the intellect, the accomplishments, the success, the everything. The USA.
The goal is to weaken that cop and make him as stupid and ineffective as he can be. When you look at the hobbling of law enforcement and the progressive crap in the schools that are now producing ignorant people, what other conclusion can you draw?
Now they are going after the most irrefutable of things - math, physics, science.
And they will win. Because they have the power and people aren't fighting back.

Why don’t the beasts in charge at the university just have a high stool and a dunce hat for each non-complying professor, akin to the Cultural Revolution in China.
Perhaps the university should pass out copies of Chairman Mao’s Red Book so the student mob can shout and wave them at the professors.
The days of a brick and mortar institution are rapidly disappearing in the rear view mirror.
