When Google conducted a study recently to determine whether the company was underpaying women and members of minority groups, it found that more men than women were receiving less money for doing similar work.
The surprising conclusion to the latest version of the annual study contrasted sharply with the experience of women working in Silicon Valley and in many other industries.
In response to the finding, Google gave $9.7 million in additional compensation to 10,677 employees for this year. Men account for about 69 percent of the companys work force, but they received a disproportionately higher percentage of the money. The exact number of men who got raises is unclear.

Nothing some more H1B outsourcing can’t fix...

Were all the women out on paid maternity leave when they did the study?
Karma...........................
Women tend to think of themselves as victims. Our modern culture has trained them to do this. But they often have a better deal than men — they just don’t see it.
Everywhere I’ve ever worked, women were coddled and treated as special, and upper management was more than 50% women — by a long shot. And, my subjective opinion, most of the women at the top didn’t belong at the top. But they were elevated anyway.
Men will work 18 hour days. Women won’t.
So, women said they "experienced" less pay then men. However, when the actual facts were looked at...
Thanks Theoria. Uh-oh, that means higher reparations later!!! White male privilege!!!
In my experience those token women serve a vital purpose: They’ve let me enjoy a much better work-life balance than previously. Many are overpaid/”over-titled” while working the bare minimum hours, and in turn us men have been able to pack things up literally hours earlier than 10 years ago.
I’m never the first to leave each day - I strive to be the second (rather than third, fourth, etc.), and nobody can say a damned thing.
See # 10; I haven’t worked more than eight hours since “liberation day” years ago, when a group of female tokens was promoted together. It is so easy to document/prove the unfairness of it, nobody questions it when we men “work like girls”.
How about suing them for wage discrimination?
H1B is the CAUSE of the gender imbalance. The low-paid men are likely to disproportionately be H1Bs.
Does the Fact that H-4 Spouses Are Almost All Women Suggest Gender Bias in Granting H-1B Visas?
Also, it is a fact of life that ALL companies legal departments will strive to ensure that NO female employee can ever plausibly claim that she was paid less than any male employee in any comparable job, and the only way to ensure that is to ensure that men are always paid less.
The best, most nurturing parent is the mother. Are there statistical outliers? No doubt, but they are the exception.
Goggle conspired with Apple, Intel and MS to suppress wages by making an agreement to get workers from India instead of hiring from their competitors.
Silicon Valley workers won the lawsuit.
The drama goes on getting cheap workers.
Google discriminates against women!
Gives 69% add’ll money to men!
