Andrew McCabe, the former deputy director of the FBI, said a bipartisan group of lawmakers was briefed on a counterintelligence investigation into President Trump and not one of them objected.
McCabe and other FBI officials informed the so-called "Gang of Eight" — leaders from both parties in the House and Senate, as well as the chairs and co-chairs of the House and Senate intelligence committees — that the bureau had opened a counterintelligence investigation into Trump after he fired FBI Director James Comey in May 2017.
“No one objected, not on legal grounds, not on constitutional grounds, and not based on the facts,” McCabe told NBC’s “Today” show Tuesday.

Precisely....A counterintelligence investigation would be initiated ONLY to protect a President from possible foreign interference or trespass.
I believe it. I think that is a reason so many republicans retired in 2018. I have always suspected that Ryan, Gowdy and many others knew about it and knew that once President Trump was elected that he would know that they knew. I think many decided to retire before the SHTF.

McCain was in it up to his neck. He hated DJT and would do anything to destroy him. Just as in everything McCain got involved with it was him first and the country a long way second, or third. I’m glad he is gone but it would have been fun to watch him squirm as this and other crap he was involved with comes unraveled.

I seriously doubt whatever it is McCabe says. This is a typical ploy by these loser-types to blame-shift.
They fully briefed the “gang of eight”...meaning they told them Trump was under a counter intel investigation, omitting the Democratic hand in the origin of the investigation of course...no need to know that! FISA judge did not need to know either, besides the gang democrats would fill the rest in, right?

The only reason that Nunes had to recuse himself for many months is because snake Paul Ryan forced him to do and removed him from his Committee Chairmanship. Nunes would have been the only one of the Gang of 8 on the side of the constitution.
McCain and Rubio (Flake?) were involved in a different "Gang of Eight." IIRC it was related to immigration.
