The first female pilot to head the Air Combat Command F-16 Viper demonstration team was relieved of command Monday due to a loss of confidence in her ability to lead, the Air Force said.
Capt. Zoe Kotnik was removed from her position after two weeks, Col. Derek OMalley, the 20th Fighter Wing commander, said in a statement.
I removed Capt. Kotnik from her position as the commander of the Viper Demo team [Monday], because I lost confidence in her ability to lead the team. OMalley said. I know that loss of confidence is a common response from the Air Force, whenever someone is removed from a command position, and I think its important to understand why we take this approach.

She was most likely screwing or attempting to screw a man married to another woman, and there were text messages and other records proving it.
If she just wasn’t up to the job, she would have simply been reassigned somewhere else and there would be no “loss of confidence” in her ability to lead.
Despite the press release, she will be quietly separated from the USAF. With the huge shortage of Airline pilots someone will hire her.

You are talking out of your ass. Plenty of male officers have been pulled from posts because of affairs. You are correct sir. I saw a few, when I was in. 🇵🇭

Got the position because she was sleeping unsingle, lack of skill recognized in first 48 of getting the slot, some calls made, two weeks later bye bye.
Any other personnel changes will be quiet or played off as unrelated.
At least she didn’t pancake an aircraft into the ground, or into water like Hultgreen did.

The PC leadership at the top ranks of the Navy killed Hultgreen. They were told repeatedly she just didn’t have the ability to fly an F-14 off an aircraft carrier and was a danger to herself and others. Had she been a man, she would have been washed out at several stages of flight training, but kept getting recycled through. Anyone standing in the way of that result would have kissed their career goodbye.
No one was surprised when she died in a crash, just didn’t know when it was going to happen.

Hence the shock and surprise here.

I doubt it was a lack of skills, or fast-rack over-promotion of a gender, or the Peter Principle, looking at her pedigree...
3. Kotnik is the niece of the famed acrobatic pilot Charlie Hillard. Hillard, who was known as a member of the Eagles Aerobatic Team, was killed in a tragic accident in Lakeland, Florida. His Hawker Sea Fury plane flipped over as he came into land at the Sun n Fly event. Hillard was the first American to win the World Aerobatic Championships in 1972. Stripes.com reports that Kotniks mother is also a private pilot.

You absolutely don’t. If you don’t believe a basic principal under which the military operates, how can you possibly prosecute it correctly.

He once told me there was a valid military reason that adultery was a crime in the Air Force. I was an Army JAG and I would be really interested to know what military reason that is. First, there's the point about the military needing to be absolutely confident that an officer will tell the truth, especially in combat situations, and the saying "If he will lie to his wife, then he will lie to you too". Military people need to be trusted. They are entrusted with vital secrets, and millions of dollars of equipment (and occasionally nuclear weapons). If they can't be trusted, then the military has a problem.
Second, it's obvious that you are a woman, and have never been in combat. Otherwise it would be obvious to you what the down-side is of somebody finding out you've been screwing his spouse, at a time when that person has LOTS of opportunities to arrange your death.

I will refer you back to the many responses to you, on this very thread.
If you are actually JAG, you are part of the problem.

If you are used to cheating in your marriage, and lying about it, then perhaps you are part of the problem.

Well this was one good reason not to permit adultery:
Army Sergeant Who Decapitated Wife's Lover Found Guilty April 02, 1994|From Reuters
HANAU, Germany A U.S. Army sergeant who decapitated his wife's lover and brought the head to her hospital bedside was found guilty of premeditated murder by a military court Friday.
A jury of four officers and three non-commissioned officers deliberated less than two hours before reaching the guilty verdict on Sgt. Stephen Schap, 26, of Baltimore.
Schap, who faces a mandatory life sentence under U.S. military justice, sat ramrod straight and showed little emotion as the court martial's verdict was read.
In early December, Schap figured out that his wife, Diane, was pregnant by his best friend, Spec. Gregory Glover, 21, of Phoenix. He found Glover, and stabbed and beheaded him with an eight-inch military knife.
Witnesses testified that he kicked the head several times to sever it completely from Glover's body, then picked it up and said: "This is what you get for adultery."
Schap then carried the bloodied head in a sports bag emblazoned with the logo "Head" to a hospital where his 26-year-old wife was undergoing emergency gynecological treatment, prosecutors told the court.
Diane Schap, who confirmed that she is pregnant by Glover, said in halting testimony earlier this week that her husband entered her hospital room, set the head on a bedside table and said, "Look Diane, Glover's here. He'll sleep with you every night, only you won't sleep at night."
From the outset of the trial, Schap had admitted the killing, but he denied that he had planned the attack and pleaded not guilty to premeditated murder.
The Schaps were in the process of separating when Glover was killed.
I bet Gregory and Diane had a lot of fun and stuff, that all that matters right, especially to chicks who devour 'Eat Pray Love' like a lion on a gazelle and bitch about double-standards thinking their whorish actions are justified.
Also, there are plenty of men who have been court-martial and then kicked out for screwing around. Several surgeons too that were highly valued but the adultery caused such a crap storm in their unit, the brass had no choice to prosecute.
