The first female pilot to head the Air Combat Command F-16 Viper demonstration team was relieved of command Monday due to a loss of confidence in her ability to lead, the Air Force said.
Capt. Zoe Kotnik was removed from her position after two weeks, Col. Derek OMalley, the 20th Fighter Wing commander, said in a statement.
I removed Capt. Kotnik from her position as the commander of the Viper Demo team [Monday], because I lost confidence in her ability to lead the team. OMalley said. I know that loss of confidence is a common response from the Air Force, whenever someone is removed from a command position, and I think its important to understand why we take this approach.

There must be more to this story........................
“OMalley alluded to Kotnik making mistakes but did not further elaborate on exactly what led to her being relieved of her duties. He said he hoped Kotnik will continue to serve the Air Force despite the incident.”
Sounds like on advice of counsel.
Wonder if she’s lawyered up yet.
Captain (O-3)?
Only out of aviator school for five years?
Seems awfully young for a job like this.

There must be more to this story........................
and it will be juicy when it comes out ...
How can this be? I thought women were perfect and wonderful in every position and in every instance.
Blackface in middle school maybe?
Uh-oh.....somebody’s gonna get some grief. You can’t do that to a woman, FCOL......that’s misogyny......./s. Seriously, you gotta do what you gotta do if this woman was inept.
Or, another instance of the Peter Principle.
Maybe she ran her plane up on a reef.
That does it in the Navy.
Found this on a forum:
No clue if this is true or not, but someone left this comment on their official Instagram page:
quote:
She prob slept with another married man. When my hubs and I first got married, she would constantly text him and try to get him to fly to FL to visit her for a weekend
You can bet on it and we will probably never find out.
How interesting. When a man screws up and drives a ship into another ship, all we hear is just that. We aren’t treated to the downtalking this guy gave. Sorry, guys, I’m not a feminazi, but I call sexism ON THE WAY SHE WAS TREATED BY COMMAND IN THE PRESS. In the press only, I don’t know enough background to judge the reasons for their lack of confidence.
Perhaps she demanded the cockpit be renamed?
My Nephew was an Air Force Jag Col.
He once told me there was a valid military reason that adultery was a crime in the Air Force.
Perhaps she demanded the cockpit be renamed?Or perhaps she pitted too many c0(k$.
Is she a Virginian?
“Or, another instance of the Peter Principle. “
Peter of one kind or another might have something to do with it.
