Patterson hosted a Christmas gathering while Jayme Closs was imprisoned in the same house [tr]

Of all the coverups and lies Jake Patterson told the world in the past few months, one stands out as especially cruel. He held a Christmas Day gathering for family members at "Patterson Retreat," the former family home that Patterson is accused of turning into a prison for 13-year-old Jayme Closs. While the family marked the holiday, the houseguests had no idea that another person was there — the terrified girl Patterson was holding captive, forced to stay hidden under a twin bed, sources told reporters for the USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin. Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald wouldn't confirm the Christmas gathering, saying he wouldn't know whether such an event took place. But two law-enforcement sources separately said the visitors included two members of Patterson's immediate family and the people they were dating.

May he rot.

He claimed, in the criminal complaint, that he took his father’s shotgun and hid it in the white car’s trunk so daddy wouldn’t find it but would return it if dad found out. It being in the trunk of the white car is an unlikely spot for dad to look if he did confront Jake that it was missing. Jake could say for dad to look all over the house and dad have egg on his face because it wouldn’t be found.

Also, the car trunk is a good place to stash it if Jake understood he himself had issues so having to go outside to get it might give him time to calm down.

He said he researched which guns would do the job best. Did he research all the weapons he had access to or was this one dad wouldn’t miss right away?

He said he left it outside his bedroom for two weeks so guessing that it would be out of Jayme’s reach. It doesn’t sound like there were other guns in the house or he’d have mentioned them. Don’t you think? Doesn’t that sound like the family didn’t let him have guns and had cleared out all of theirs? Chalking up another point that THEY KNEW HE WAS DANGEROUS.

He is 21, so is there a reason why he didn’t buy his own gun? Did dad not give him enough money for one or is there some legal reason he can’t own one? Either way, there are ways he could get the money or a weapon without the parents’ knowledge and any registration flags. But that goes back to him being a loner and those visiting friends never existed.

He also only had a handful of shells. Was that all dad had? Why not take more? Why not buy more or again, does he not have any money? That’s poor planning.

That’s something else the sheriff lied about. He said there were several bullet casings left at the Closs house. JP said he only shot twice. And wouldn’t those be shotgun shells and not bullet casings? LE knows the difference wouldn’t say bullet shells so he knew he was lying. Then there’s the shoe prints and JP said he went throught the house so that’s farther than 5 feet.

I would think Jayme’s mama would have dialed 911 immediately. JP says he saw the closed bathroom door but looked through the house before coming back to it and bashing it several times before he got in. Sure, it took seconds but longer than what the LE gave out to the public so bet there’s a lot more on that tape than what they admitted, but we all knew that. Why bother asking the public’s help if all the public had to go on was lies?

In the criminal complaint, what stands out is he said he was in the home for 4 minutes. Yeah, sure, funny how that’s the time the sheriff said. A normal person would have said a few minutes not 4. Bet all that “well planned” stuff is bs, too. What else is he parroting?

He doesn’t plan anything. He’s incapable of long term anything proven by his work history, the Marines (probably already pegged to be out weeks before he was actually out) and erratic mood swings. He decided the minute he saw her getting on the bus she was the one. It was on impulse he purchased the face mask the day he first saw her. He didn’t plan on an easier way to snatch her. He had to go through the Closs house because he didn’t know how many people were there and supposedly didn’t know enough about the family to know their names. He failed to plan or he had a short attention span that he forgot to put the front license plate on and failed to put them back on the correct vehicle. Poor planning in keeping the tags, his boots and clothing for LEO to find. He certainly failed to plan how he was going to keep her.

So many disconnects. That may have played in her favor in that he didn’t know the best way to dispose of her. He may be book smart but a big fat zero outside of that. Or could that “smart” be another big fat zero and people only thought that because he hid behind books rather than be social. The Sheriff and msm said he was smart and it was well planned. Horse hockey!

I’m just seeing this stuff for the first time. Can you link to where it is being discussed elsewhere? Do we know why the sheriff would lie?

His father would stop in on Saturdays so bet it was just dad, sister and her date. More of a dropping in than “hosting”. He went to Superior on Christmas Day and was gone 12 hours from the house that day.

Just google Jayme Closs. It was all over national news.

Outside Barron, WI, around Oct. 4, this creepy low life looser guy, Patterson, who couldn’t keep a job over a couple days and washed out of the Marines spotted 13 year old Jaymie as she boarded her morning school bus (or so he claims) and decided that’s the girl he was going to kidnap. Two weeks later, at 1 am, he came up to her house and blew her father away when he came to the door. Then he busted down the bathroom door where Jayme and her mom were hiding. The mom called 911 on her cell but the sheriff claims they weren’t able to understand anything but yelling. Patterson then taped Jayme’s mouth and legs and blew her mama’s head off in front of her and dragged Jayme to the car trunk.

He then drove (his sister’s car) off and within seconds pulled over to allow the Barron Co. deputies pass on their way to the Closs house. One deputy reports to have seen the only car on the road that night as Patterson’s maroon Taurus but two different vehicles were put out to the public so no one knew to look for the Taurus. He drove to his father’s home an hour away outside Gordon, WI and kept her basically under his twin sized bed for 88 days. He put weights in totes around the bed and threated her if she moved them or made noise when anyone came to the house. He said his father would visit on Saturdays.

The house is owned by the father but sonny boy had been living there alone. He really had no known source of income so it is speculated daddy was supporting him with free rent and bringing him food and/or spending money. The car wasn’t his but his sister’s.

Grandpa and classmates say he’s smart but didn’t socialize. At 15, he had his one and only gf whom he scared off with his mood swings and the end came when he threw a dead dog’s head at her. Pictures with family and at school show him very awkward with his hands in his pockets. One class picture shows him in the background alone with his head in a book or laptop.

August 2015, after graduating from HS, he joined the Marines but was kicked out in no time for not being Marine material (can’t think of the exact wording).

On Jan. 15, he left his trash dump of a house to go to his mother’s house in a nearby small town where he supposedly posted a job application. While he was gone, Jayme escaped wearing only a shirt, leggings and a pair of his too big shoes on the wrong feet. Very near the house, she approached a woman walking her dog and asked for help. The woman, a retired child protective worker, recognized her and took her to a neighbor’s house where 911 was called. Those neighbors happen to be a middle school teacher of Patterson’s and a retired cop. The cop stood ready with his weapon until the deputies arrived.

When the deputies were taking Jayme, they passed Patterson’s car as he was out looking for her. One deputy turned to pull him over and he immediately said he’d done it and was arrested.
