GORDON, Wisconsin The man accused of kidnapping Jayme Closs and killing her parents in October had "absolutely" no contact with the family before the brutal slayings, her aunt told Fox News, as the first glimpse of the home where the teenager was allegedly held for months was revealed on Sunday.
Authorities in northern Wisconsin removed the barricade blocking the house in rural Gordon on Sunday morning, where authorities say brave 13-year-old Jayme Closs escaped captivity last Thursday.
Investigators had closed off the entire neighborhood for days as they carefully gathered evidence inside the home of Jaymes suspected captor, 21-year-old Jake Thomas Patterson. So far, police have not given any details on what type of conditions the house might contain.

The home where Closs was allegedly held captive has two structures -- a two-story house and then a two car garage with what appears to be a boat covered by tarps.

Reading accounts yesterday it appears Patterson lived in foster homes after his parents divorced when he was around ten years old. Then he lived with a brother Eric in the pictured cabin for some unstated period of time. But what did they do to support their daily life? Did either have employment?
I have a hunch Patterson is a porn addict which led him to do what he did. I have read of several, if not many, of those who go after young girls are consumed with porn and the fantasies which go with such an addiction.
She psyched him out somehow.
No doubt about it, his lawyer will be all over that.
He had no job.
The chinless freak needs to be voted off the island.
Could have
Or seen her twitter feed/instagram/facebook/snap chat/whatsapp/or whatever as well
Heck, he could have created a fake 13-15 year old boy account and communicated with her that way as well. He’s 21 not 61.
We don’t know yet
Maybe he was a wealthy, trust-fund Democrat?
We don't need to know what he did to her. They should keep that classified.
But, parents want to know how he was attracted to her. People want to keep their kids safe, and if there is something that can be learned from this, that can be avoided with their own kids, then people want to know that.
Unfortunately, there are things that we will probably never know. That seems to be typical of many high-profile cases. Why the authorities hide things from the public (other than during an on-going investigation) is a mystery.
Where did the 21 yrs old pervert get the money for that home?
We all hope and pray that the victim had no complicity and that the story of the tragedy is what it is at face value. Yet based on some past precedents, law enforcement would be negligent if they did not act with due diligence in their investigation.
From another article:
“Daphne Ronning, one of Pattersons neighbors, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Pattersons parents moved to Gordon about 15 years ago. Patterson was raised in the home alongside a brother, according to the newspaper. He and his brother continued to use the home even after their parents moved.”
>...those who go after young girls are consumed with porn...
I wonder though about cause and effect. Would a “normal porn addict” be driven to watch young girls or would his proclivity draw him to it?
I agree it serves no purpose to divulge that information.
I wonder if they moved to a grave in the back yard somewhere.
I am not well enough read to know. But from what I have learned this type of addiction erodes the very basic fabric of human life and effects people differently depending on how much they have developed the attributes of morality, integrity, responsibility etc. Someone who is strong would not be affected by heavy doses of porn. Someone who is weak becomes dangerous to himself and others. That’s the opinion of this old octogenarian whose seen a lot of the world, both the good and the bad, but definitely not an authority.
That’s a valid thought considering this sicko Patterson, I’m sure the investigators have thought about it too.
There's a bit more nuance than that. There's "absolutely no contact" at one end, there's "they planned it together" on the other. There's a lot of space in between.
Common sense dictates that he saw her somehow. To quote Hannibal Lecter, "we begin by coveting what we see every day."
There is something about those deep, dark, gloomy, isolated and forboding Wisconsin North Woods that produces some real-life monsters.

OK, thanks.
They don’t come much crazier than him and it sounds like mom may have been running a close second.
“I saw two different references to the possibility that he was her boyfriend and she planned it with him.”
Okay. Were they “desperately determined to assert she arranged all this with the killer who shot her parents?”
