Shes not a senator, but Cynthia Nance plays an enormous role in shaping the debate over some of President Trumps judicial picks. Ms. Nance, former dean of the University of Arkansas School of Law, handles the American Bar Associations judicial ratings for nominees to federal courts in North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri and Arkansas, which make up the federal 8th Circuit. The ABAs role is one the more opaque parts of the process, but Republicans are pushing it into the light, accusing her of allowing personal bias, particularly a fealty to abortion rights, to color her ratings. The ABA recently rated Jonathan Kobes, a Trump pick to sit on the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, not qualified, saying he didnt have a long enough record of legal writings.
And a year earlier, Ms. Nance led the ABA review committee that rated another Trump pick, Leonard Steven Grasz, not qualified. Judge Grasz would win confirmation, but not before accusing the Nance-led panel of inappropriate questions on abortion and referring to him as you guys which he took as a pejorative reference to Republicans.
To SenateJudiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, the treatment has gone overboard.
He said Ms. Nances left-leaning activism dates back more than a decade, including opposing Justice Samuel A. Alitos confirmation despite the ABA rating him unanimously well qualified.
She also has retweeted comments on Twitter mocking the late Justice Antonin Scalia and his view of originalism, the Iowa Republican said.
In addition, the law professor also wrote a letter to the Obama administration opposing legal protections for religious organizations such as the Little Sisters of the Poor, which challenged Obamacares contraceptive mandate.

So ignore her. Refuse to enter her opinion in the record, and refuse to allow her to appear as a witness
Tell the bitch to write a letter. The Chair will enter it into the record.

She could eat an apple through a picket fence...at arms length.
Need more swamp draining. What’s taking so long?
Riding? Like a broomstick?
Was the ABA approval necessary and in the Constitution? No? Then why the hell bother?
Now if President Trump were truly the dictator the left label him as being, that draining would be much easier. But he is not a dictator.
The American Bar Association is not a branch of government - they’re just another special interest group with a political axe to grind. There is zero reason for any GOP senator to care what their ratings are, unless they themselves believe deeply in the ABA’s opinion - certainly the voting public couldn’t care less what the ABA thinks about anything.
Shes a horsewoman.
“She could eat an apple through a picket fence...at arms length.”
Yeah, she definitely gots de Obama Choppers! Maybe she’d be good enough to go help Occasional-Kotex help the beavers in DC build an extension on their dam.
Her twitter page is full of left wing propaganda.
The ABA should have ZERO say in who is nominated. They are a far-left marxist organization and they have way, way too much power.
They don’t represent all lawyers anyway. They have power because the government foolishly cedes accreditation to them for law schools.
The American Bar Association is a left wing political organization. Its opinions are of no worth.
Never heard of her 9that I recall0 until this article...her “enormous influence” must be overstated.
What took Grassley so long to get going on this issue?
In the age of Trump many companies institutions have ditched any semblance of fairness and in the process lost any reputation they might have for integrity. This in turn has reduced their power. This includes mainstream media outlets, the ABA, and even the giant social media giants will eventually pay the price when there is a whiff of competition to them.
My social-justus, racist, female, law school, want-to-be-in-the-news, internationalist radar is screaming liberal activist to me.
