The board provides grade-level guidelines and resources for teachers to consider in lesson plans.
Wake County Schools said it supports the controversial tweet.
Well then at this point it’s up to parents to tell the kid to do whatever the #### he decides and if he/she gets in trouble they will stand by him/her.
BTW, does this c### go out of the way to stop cultural appropriation from foreign kids/adults who use an American made product, Twitter?
Just remember - Indians with horses or pickups is cultural appropriation.
Our five year old grandson is homeschooled...I helped him make his grocery bag Indian vest and feather headband to wear for thanksgiving. And I am reading him Rush Reveres First Thanksgiving book. Being politically correct is not my strong suit. ROFL
“...Director of Equity...” She’s an “EdD student”
Says it all: totally worthless.
Don’t know the answer to your question.
1. First, they stole the true meaning of Thanksgiving and turned it into a hallmark holiday.
2. Second, they snivel that the fake hallmark holiday is "misappropriating" somebody's something.
Tell me how Thanksgiving has anything, whatsoever, to do with Pilgrims or indians?
President George Washington, Thanksgiving Proclamation, 3 October 1789

There you have it. These are the people who have your kids all day.
“...Being politically correct...” means you don’t have a strong suit.
Keep up the good work.
Homeschooling is the hope of this country! Glad you don’t do PC well. Sounds like your grandson has had fun and been educated at the same time. Good for you!
Where’s my casino ?
If “cultural appropriation” was enforced across the world i wonder how many business would fail and people would die if any and all American products and services needed to stop being used.
Don’t “culturally appropriate” any medicine or treatments or technology we’ve created.
Dumb ####s.
This is why I voted against the Wake County school bonds.
Wake County is a totally BLUE, PC county.
I used to teach in Wake County, many many years ago.
It was Politically correct way back then too. So I am sure it is insufferably so now.
Director of Equity, my foot.
Private Christian Schools and homeschooling are, as I said, the hope of this country. There just aren’t enough of em.
LOL.
Thank you.
And any that use twittter and facebook and ANYTHING else that was created by Americans.
What I’ve noticed lately that bothers me is these things are happening a lot in NON insane states like mine, NY.
I am not shocked to read this about NY or NJ or whatever.
But it’s Texas and NC and even Mississippi.
It’s happening all over the country and it’s insanity.
It was always comforting to think the south and lower midwest hadn’t lost their minds at least.
Now some are beginning to.
and the folks are not ALWAYS transplants.
Like those THREE judges in the same area who got booted in TX!! Three GOOD judges, from what it sounds like.
Geesh!
I did too (voted against the School Bonds issue).
Enough of a money hole already.
And each summer when the news says “Coming up next, a fight over redistricting” you know it’s Wake County.
When I went to elementary school in the 1960s, it was a golden era compared to today.
And Wake County is the largest school system in the state, I believe, even larger than Charlotte/Mecklenburg County.
Doing so much PC damage.
