A high school marching band in Mississippi has sparked outrage after their halftime show featured students dressed as nurses and doctors pointing toy guns at students dressed like SWAT team members. The halftime show was reportedly based off of John Q, a movie in which Denzel Washington plays a desperate father who takes patients at a hospital hostage while trying to get treatment for his son.
The scene shocked fans in attendance and the band director was placed on administrative leave. Jackson Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Errick L. Greene issued a statement apologizing for the performance saying that it "does not depict the values and people in our community."

Issue wasn’t the guns.
The issue was that this was done by the visiting team in a town that had just lost 2 police officers to gunshots. The “actors” on the ground are dressed in swat uniforms.
They are attempting to divert away from the reason for the outrage.
I grew up, as my children did, with real guns. None of us played with them as props or toys.
I DO NOT BUY THE ADMINISTRATION DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE BAND WAS DOING.
Back in the day we had a play in HS where the guy brought in his dad’s .357 revolver as a prop. Kept it with him all day. Of course that was a play. Not sure what the point of this “skit” at half-time was.
“Issue wasnt the guns.”
It wasn’t the “toy” guns either. Misleading headline. It’s about social justice crap/ i hate whitey and cops garbage like clockwork.
Sounds, like, you know, INCOHERENT!
The headline obfuscates the content, which would otherwise expose the left for the assclowns they are.
Shoot a gun like that and you might lose teeth
Thank you. My first reaction was “Guns!!? that’s just BS!”
The dayglo orange tips have been removed.

Saddest most desperate set of lies in the cause of CYA I have ever come across. So it’s really a plea for national health insurance? Sure it is. Did somebody see the license number of that turnip truck. I hit my head when I fell out and my vision ain’t so good.
The stupid hurts!!!!!!
We did have a show where we crouched behind our Sousaphones and shot at each other with cap guns. Don't remember the context. Cops & robbers, something like that.

Yup
You hit the bull’s eye with that comment!
When I was in school (a long time ago in another world) most of us had shotguns or handguns in our trucks and cars out in the school parking lot. During breaks or recess we could pull them out and show them off on campus with teachers or coaches admiring them too. Like I said ...another world.
From ‘61 to’ 64 I took my Winchester 52C to high school twice a week for smallbore practice and interschool competitions. It was NRA sanctioned so they provided the ammo, and we had a teacher who was our coach and sponsor. I used to keep and extensive record book and in 3 years I went through 12,350 rounds. I still have that same rifle and still shoot it twice a week it will still group 5 shots under 1/4 inch at 25 metres using Eley Tenex. I have put over 220,800 rounds through it in 58 years and the bore is just beginning to show a little frost ahead of the chamber - rest of the bore is still sharp. My dad purchased the rifle for me on my 15 birthday and it was used then. It was originally built in ‘52 so no telling how many rounds it really has through it. After each session it gets a dry and then a lube patch through the bore with the outer surfaces wiped with and LPS3 saturated cloth. Bluing is still 98% plus. I did have it recrowned last year but othan than that the rifle is as it was purchased.
Good gosh, you have a treasure there in that particular Winchester 52C.
Sounds like you might be few years older than me but it was a special time to grow up in the late 50’s and 60’s.
A whole ‘nother world...gone with the wind.
