President Donald Trump said Monday he has no plans to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, delivering a reprieve for the Justice Department official whose future has been the source of intense speculation for two weeks.
Trump told reporters at the White House that he had "a very good relationship" with Rosenstein and was eager to speak with him aboard Air Force One on a flight to Florida for the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference. They did talk, for about 30 minutes, but not alone, a spokesman said later.
The flight provided an opportunity for their most extensive conversation since news reports last month that Rosenstein had discussed the possibilities in early 2017 of secretly recording Trump to expose chaos in the White House and invoking constitutional provisions to get him removed from office.
President Donald Trump talked for about a half hour to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein during their flight Monday to Orlando, Florida, for a speech to police chiefs around the world.
White House spokesman Hogan Gidley says the two did not speak alone and that others sat in on their chat aboard Air Force One.
He did not disclose details of their conversation, but referred back to the president's comments as he left the White House saying he did not intend to fire Rosenstein.
Rosenstein's tenure at the Justice Department has been in question since news reports last month that he'd discussed possibly secretly recording Trump and invoking constitutional provisions to get him removed from office.
Rosenstein, who oversees special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, denied the reports.
Those reports triggered an avalanche of speculation about the future of Rosenstein and also the special counsel's investigation into possible coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign

Sounds like Trump has him in the crosshairs.
Maybe the swamp is really too big to drain without sinking the country.

They already put in an ineligible usurper in violation of the Constitution with the complete cooperation of both parties.
Exposing the true scope would bring down the entire government.
Yes, Trump will leave the firing of RR to someone else when the time comes...
I wonder to. My thought is that they have enough on him to lock him up. Who better to flip than the weasel? Keep him close and get him to turn on the co-conspirators or he goes down. The main problem with that theory is that jail time may be preferable to arkancide. Getting locked up then a lucrative book deal may be worth it when the alternative is an untimely death. That's why the Clinton/media collusion has lasted so long. The incentives are large and the disincentives severe.
You want them back in the field continuing the fight against DJT(pretending hahahah as if).

IDK Ross or Rhodes, but Madden has used the term since he was head coach for the Raiders.
Later today Trump plans on taking Rosenstein to an Alligator Farm
Afer the election..or maybe he is going to be the turncoat..
Ask him again on November 7.

You took the words right out of my mouth.
Trump has no plans to make this an issue leading up to the election.
Very smart. Very, very smart.
Talked to him but not alone.
Of course he wouldnt talk to him alone. That would make about as much sense as going to a party with that skank Swetnick.
Rosenstein is flipping on his fellow Deep State criminals.
I think Mueller knows hes toast after the election if the Democrats dont take the house. I figure Mueller will dump everything he can manufacture before the election. Mueller should realize if Trump retains both house and senate he will probably eventually be answering the questions of a new special prosecutor.
Ok I’ll bite...what evidence?
Sure hope they searched the maggot before he boarded.
I think a deal may have been made. Give us a fast and fair report and save Kavenaugh and RR gets to stay. Just my suspicion.
I don’t want to say Trump owns him....but....
Good for Trump.
Rosenstein will hear about it on TV.
Do you think he did the visit on AF1 because that requires Rosenstein to be heavily scrutinized by security to make sure he has no wires?
Also RR is a weasel. He may be trying to save his ass by turning the heat up on others. At least that may be Trump’s plan.
Day after the election Trump should fire every single one of them.
But I think RR may be such a weasel rat he may turn against his fellow rats if he knows Trump has him dead to rights. That’s why Trump met on AF1 instead of in a building. Increased security to get on AF1 to ensure the weasel isn’t wearing a wire. Then he turns he screws to him...and possibly records it himself to setup the weasel if he backs out.
