Democrats just killed the blue wave
The Hill ^ | 10/06/18 09:30 AM EDT | HEATHER R. HIGGINS, OPINION CONTRIBUTOR

Democrats were cheered by the renewed FBI investigation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh and counted it as a win. Most Republicans were dismayed that the full Senate's vote on Judge Brett Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court was delayed and saw this as a political misstep.

They should change places.

First, while the politically attuned understand this is just a delay game by the left, who are on record as willing to do anything to derail this nominee and force the appointment to be made after the November election, swing voters and many women do not.

For them, there is no reason to not look further. The “why rush? It’s for a lifetime” argument resonates as do their own experiences. This past week countless of men have learned from many women just how prevalent the alleged behavior and how much worse it is. This includes those in my own family who hadn’t known I was a victim of sexual assault in high school and just after college when I was the victim of rape.

Independents, Millennials and many women want to know: Why hasn’t Mark Judge answered more questions? What do other classmates say? Is the GOP going to be fair to what they saw as sincere testimony by Dr. Ford?

President Trump is astute and understood ahead of any polling, that for these people, rushing a vote without more FBI vetting would leave Kavanaugh’s legitimacy perpetually undermined on the court.

There’ll be no more Borkings or smears after this folks. The Left have completely burned up this card.

Bull. The left always double downs. Just wait. They’ll be even worse on the next one.

The GOP while forced to delsy the vote - benefited by showing swing voters it could credibly investigate a serious allegation while leaving it to the Democrats to show it they were in it for polliticsl reasons by denying an accused man a fair hearing and due process - cardinal American values.

As a result, the extra time not only didn’t hurt the GOP, it showed Americans which party was respectful and want to get things done for the right reasons rather than to score cheap political points. It revealed the GOP cared both about women who were sexually assaulted while protecting men who were falsely accused.

In the end, the Democrats revealed themselves to be an anti-male party cynically exploiting women to destroy both conservative men and being a radical movement devoid of both compassion and justice that thrashed American norms to win an election.

All of this turned off voters in the middle who realized how dangerous it would be to allow the Democrats back into power. If there was sentiment for a Blue Wave election, the Democrats radical and indecent behavior buried that for good.

In a word, while Americans change, they’re frightened of change that does more harm than good. And the Democrats themselves offered a kind of change repellent to most Americans.

The Blue Wave is dead, indeed.

The threat to due process, guilt by accusation, is a warning shot of where the dems are headed.

Trust me, it's not going to happen. Trump has completely ended this from the Left.

The Democrats may want to get a handle on their militant, dogmatic, SJW youngsters who are hellbent on taking over the party and turning it into the Khmer f**king Rouge.

Might want, but they don't. Young militant useful idiots carrying the Democrat message without involving the bigwigs. But now we know DemBigwigs like Pelosi and DiFi were behind it all. Hiding, but there they were. Cannot deny it.

What do you suppose will be the accusation against her? Sexual assault seems unlikely, although one never knows with the D(esperate)’s

I think they will try it again

Nope. They never expected Trump or his nominee to fight back. The goal was to get Kavanaugh to withdraw. That didn't happen so they panicked and watched as their smear blew up in their faces.

The Left is not going to pull this card again. Just like Trump owned them on the gov't shutdown and now Dems aren't going to pull any more gov't shutdowns for political purposes. The beauty of Trump is that he is choking off arteries for the Left to use to advance their agenda. He's remaking SCOTUS and the judiciary system; which exposes the Dems because they can't pass their ideas in the legislature.

I predict next Trump will ask Congress to defund all of the taxpayer money going to leftist groups, and use the IRS to crack down on those groups violating their supposedly non-profit or non-partisan status.

They have nothing else they can do, other than give up, and that’s not going to happen.

They thought it worked because of Roy Moore.

Ran the SAME PLAYBOOK. But the opposition came up with a few tactics to counteract. Just like any game.

They will do it again with Amy Barrett or Thapar. It’s the same stupid playbook. This time if it’s Barrett, they’ll look for past boyfriends of hers, thats for sure.

Democrats just killed the blue wave

Partner, we just do not know what these Rats are smoking or drinking these days???

Smerkula and Pelousy in which both of these character leader Rats recommended to all the Senate Rats and Congressional Rats to vote against the Tax cuts and Business Tax Cuts put forth by President Donald J. Trump.

The Republicans should be able to easily keep and probably expand the Congressional and the Senatorial seats in play. So there will be a Red Wave just by the Tax Cuts and Business Tax Cuts alone is my prediction.

Smerkula recommends to all his Rat Senators to vote against Judge Kavanaugh in which all Rat Senators except Joe Manchin voted against Judge Kavanaugh. All the Rat Senators presumed guilty all along which is "Not The American Justice That We Have Come To Know"!

We have come to know "That You Are Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty",

We hope there is as "Huge Red Wave Over the Fruited Plain come November 6th, 2018."

If we do not get a hugh red wave then we have a bunch of moronic folks that live in the U.S.A. and a lot of Illegals voted illegally.

Hmmm. Trump swung the dummies?

I said the Dems will oppose her on judiciary grounds. Maybe they might bring her religion into it. But that's as far as they will go. They're not going to smear Barrett or bring up false allegations against her.

Telling you folks - this card is old and busted now. That's the genius of Trump. He is shutting down the Left.

see my last post. I am SURE they will be ready for Barrett too. Most probably some boyfriend back in HS who is now a Dem, will claim SHE raped him.

Same playbook that worked on ROY MOORE was blocked at the 10 yard line. The leftards and Soros better come up with a new one this time...

The severity will depend on how the republicans react to the dirty tactics. If they are gentlemen, it will go hard for the nominee.

Anything to derail the nominee should not include trying to destroy his reputation. That's the difference between what the Democrats did with Kavanaugh and what the Republicans did against Garland. Trying to keep Garland off the court through parliamentary means and trying to keep Kavanaugh off the court through personal destruction are two different things. One acceptable in society, one not.
