National sales tax, basically. It’s not like these goods are going to now be manufactured in the US. At a 10-25% tariff rate, it’s till far cheaper to make them in China, it’s just that now the government gets sales tax revenue out of it.
Tariffs are a tax hike. China is not paying the tax. You are. At least understand that much, people.

In the 1930s, the US loaned China billions of dollars, to fight Japan. That loan is still on the books.
Encouraged by policies that discourage the building of factories in the US. If China is a better place for your industry than California (and it probably is...) then something is seriously wrong.

No problem. The US dollar is stronger. The Yuan is weaker. So a 10% tariff will be unnoticed. Don’t listen to the tariff crap. Tariffs are taxes on their stuff. If they can’t sell it to us, they simply lower their Yuan. Then it sells here. Indonesia, India, Taiwan, Korea can make most of the things China makes.
If our government gets its money from our income then we are taxing our goods through the workforce. If we have tariffs then we are taxing their goods. Our debt goes down.
The reality is that we have a stupid amount of cheap goods from China that we don’t need. Its so cheap that we buy more. And we just throw away the old stuff. If we can oar metal in Australia, ship it to China, Make steel from it there. Create a lamp. Ship it to the US stuff it on a train then a truck, then to a store. And you buy it for $19.99 its too cheap. And you will still buy it if its $21.99.
Walmart has been warned. They must now move to have the cheap crap produced in China moved to other countries that produce cheap crap.
Since the USA is one of the largest consumer nation China needs us a lot more than we need them, after all if they quit buying (food) from the USA they can all eat cheap Walmart junk
