While thousands of people struggle to overcome the damage left behind by Hurricane Florence, citizens in Wilmington broke into the closed Family Dollar Saturday on Greenfield Street to steal anything they could find, WISTV reported.
On Friday dozens upon dozens of people were seen and videotaped carrying items back to the public housing community Houston Moore. Others were taking stolen items to their cars. Looters threw bottles at reporters as they took video.
Another reporter, Hannah Brewer of WFMY, posted the following raw footage to youtube.

The Manager of that Family Dollar may be in some really deep legal trouble. The insurance company doesn’t have to pay off in some cases. If the insurance company deems the store wasn’t secure in it’s actions they can rule the store itself was at blame for the thefts and not cover any losses. The police may be in trouble as well. If they don’t have any written, taped, or more than one source verifying they were not to go after the looters, the insurance company could go after the police department or the city proper for any losses, if (pretty big if, here) they do pay out any claim. Also, if anyone was hurt during the theft and it could be proven the harm was caused by the neglect of the police department, you could have an entirely new set of lawsuits. I’d say pure stupidity on this one call by both the Family Dollar store and the Police Department.
Right. But if the owners of the store defended their property using firearms, these same jackasses would be protesting and rioting if the police did not stop or arrest the store owners.
Police are damned if they do and if they don’t.

Yesterday I drove by a large Dollar Tree distribution center in Texas. Maybe the looters can hope Dollar Tree will transfer stuff to Family Dollar.

I’m out of onions, and I’m down to one bottle of wine. However, it’s a mile and a half through floodwaters to the nearest store, so they won’t be arresting me for looting. (Or selling me any wine and onions.)
Libs want the underclass to steal during times of civil stress because they feel that they are just taking what is “rightfully” theirs from their “oppressors.”
