Nike's decision to put Colin Kaepernick at the center of its latest "Just Do It" ad campaign did not come without scrutiny, drawing criticism from President Donald Trump and prompting fans to burn their merchandise in protest.
But from a sales perspective, the company came out of the week a winner, according to one study. Research conducted by Edison Trends revealed that Nike's online sales surged 31% from Sunday through Tuesday. Nike ran its first ad featuring Kaepernick on Monday.

Wanna buy a bridge?
Interesting. I guess they all came from the ghetto.
My Bad! MS-13, drug gangs — that’s it. Prime Nike buyers.
Overheard at “Edison Trends”: “31 percent sounds good, let’s go with 31 percent. Did the check clear?”
Read the article, no sales figures are given. How did they arrive at the figure? This is probably nothing more than leftist propaganda.
cooked numbers.
Dick’s sales supposedly “went up” too after their announcement. Until they couldn’t fudge the numbers anymore.
The left MAY increase their Nike purchases but, at their root, they hate Nike for their chinese labor practices and they won’t be able to keep things up for long.
I don’t doubt it. But here is the mechanism:
Libs and other virtue signalers go out to purchase Nike products to show how down they are with the cause, which causes a bump in sales.
But when it settles back down, it equilibrates to a lower base level, because there are a lot of conservatives who won’t come back, and virtue signalers only buy to make a point. But conservatives won’t buy the product again.
Ever.
Short term surge from Leftists virtue signaling by buying Nike.
I say lets take a look at numbers in a year.
How many percent did the sales “drop” before said surge?
Of course, the “herd” is going to put on a big show - a skill learned from obama - to try and offset the fall, however, I am an individual and I’ll never buy another Nike (or Levi) product. And, my “surge” will last a lot longer than theirs.
A flash in the pan usually means they will get burned eventually.
Rightfully so. I hope they go out of business.
How many stolen credit cards being used ,LOL
That'll give the kids in the 'hood something to beat and kill each other over. Also, this is a losing move by Nike, and there is often collectibles value with this kind of endorsement sports gear, because 99% at least gets worn, soiled, worn out, and thrown away. Stuff that isn't on the market long could be a real capital appreciation play.
The article was all BS. How can a criticism of a product gain 31%? I smell nonsense here.
The same BS I got about the sales figures for BLACK PANTHER. I know firsthand about Regal Theaters and AMC theaters, and how they operate here in Hollywood. One of my guys who reps for the theater owners assoc. told me the sales figures were different from SEATING/WATCHING audience numbers. Meaning outside forces PRE BOUGHT a large number to compensate for the loss. You dont believe me? Anyone check out the “crowds” at the theater on the 2nd weekend?
Now that Serena had her day, their sales will dip 50%.
Nikker Sales up? Baloney.
If some small percentage of people support the Nike ad, and they want to show it, they can just go out and buy an extra pair of sneakers or a shirt or whatever. What are the rest of us who are disgusted by the ad supposed to do?
ML/NJ
I ain’t buying it...and won’t buy Nike’s either.
Someone posted the following vanity today:
“I returned my Nike shoes to the store where they were purchased...told them the shoes hurt my feet when I stand for the National Anthem.”
***************
Did the check from Soros clear?
Uhh no. According to the “logic” of this article, Serena will have 1,100,000 more Facebook and twitter subscribers. The article was pure BS.
