Betsy DeVos is getting savaged for closing campus kangaroo courts

A judicial process that doesn’t allow the accused to cross-examine his accuser or reliably see the evidence against him is a civil libertarian’s nightmare. It traduces every principle of fairness and is blatantly un-American.

Yet Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is about to get savaged for replacing just such a process with something more in keeping with our longstanding legal norms.

The Education Department is preparing new rules that would roll back the monstrously unfair Obama-era requirements for how colleges handle sexual-assault and harassment allegations.

The Obama rules have been receiving a battering in the courts, where due process is still taken seriously.

This is the animating spirit behind the DeVos changes. They are still being formulated, but a New York Times report suggests that they will correct the worst excesses of the Obama rules and interject fairness into proceedings that were, shamefully, designed to lack it.

Sounds like the FISA courts.

If you were a victim of an armed robbery (like I was) then you must be prepared to face your assailant in a court of law with legal representation and make your statement (like I did) and the accused has rights which must be protected by processes which presume his innocence.

Read the article. Good information about another atrocity by the Obongo Admin which will hopefully die a quick and rightful death. Puglosi is already crying tears of rage.

What happens if the Universities tell DeVos to piss off?

Lose federal funds?

What 14th Amendment right to due process and equal protection? The racists KKK democrats had the 14th amendment forced on them at gunpoint, literally.

Correct. Hopefully.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/laurettabrown/2018/08/31/pelosi-calls-reported-changes-to-obamaera-campus-rules-on-sexual-misconduct-an-insult-to-students-n2514857

"House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) slammed reports that the Trump administration is looking to roll back Obama-era changes to the handling of sexual misconduct claims by college campuses. The New York Times reported Thursday that Education Secretary Betsy Devos will be making changes to the Obama-era rules that would increase protections for those accused of sexual misconduct and raise the legal bar for proving a school mishandled complaints. Pelosi framed the move as “yet another chapter in the anti-student, anti-women and anti-equality agenda of Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.” “The reported plan to roll back critical protections, increase the burden of proof and create extraordinary new barriers to justice for survivors of sexual assault on college campuses is an insult to students,” she said."

Never mind the fact that the life of the accused will be destroyed if it is a false claim?

Numerous courts have already ruled that the policy issued by Obongo denies due process to the accused. They are men for the most part, and white men in too many cases. They have no Constitutional rights in the eyes of Libtard Puglosi.

Hope Secretary De Vos is successful AND tells Piglosi to go climb a tree backwards.

Lack of due process is also the hallmark of the latest “Red Flag” laws intended to disarm gun owners one at a time. No notice, no confronting one’s accuser, just a surprise knock on the door and the po-po are busy seizing your guns.

These are also known as Snitch Laws and “turn in your neighbor” laws. The KGB would be impressed.

Schools have no constitutional right to determine whether someone is guilty of something or not.

Trump MUST take to Twitter, and shout for the whole world to see that Pelosi doesn’t believe in due process for everybody.

...and a Godsend for Civil Liberties lawyers filing charges in such a case on behalf of their clients

If the so-called "civil liberties" organisations had pressed this matter in the first place, the action by Sec. DeVoss and the Trump Administration would not be necessary.

Colleges and universities refuse to give a public racial breakdown of men expelled by these kangaroo courts, becayse Title IX is how progressives lynch African Americans in the 21st century.
