Awesome statement and eloquently put. I liked referring to that episode as the War for Southern Independence, but I could not adequately explain why "Civil War" was inaccurate.
War has been declared by one side, but the other wont acknowledge....
It was a silent Coup by the Left. Fortunately, Trump disrupted it. However, the Coup is still going on. Its just not covert any longer. Its in plain sight...
Again, youve got to have the first civil war before you can have the second one. Technically a civil war involves an attempt to take over the government
That would be a Coup. The War Between the States was indeed a Civil War.
Here is an essay I wrote (satire, of course) about the new Nobility.
I don’t have the source, but my understanding was that it was a newspaper article written while he was still at EMU.
Bkmrk- so sorry to have lost this guy.
I respectfully disagree. The War for Southern Independence was exactly that. About 71% of eligible voters in Texas voted for secession. That meant the people decided their course of action -albeit a course of action that was denied to them.
See my follow on links. I don’t think so.
Great article!
Author nails it. Never heard of him.
That’s going to be a hard sell to most. Words do matter, but people screw them up all the time. Like “decimate”; actually means to destroy every tenth item, but used to mean totally destroy. “Alright” was not a word until so many people butchered it that it made it into the dictionary. Then look at the misuse of “then” (i.e., time) and “than” (i.e., comparison), to, two, too. Even professional journalists, authors, and TV news people will say:
He’s the man that robbed the bank.
when it should be:
He’s the man who robbed the bank.
These are common, everyday mistakes. However, saying there was no Civil War is pretty much going to be like throwing a potato chip against the wind...it’s coming back in your face regardless (or would you prefer irregardless?) of how hard you throw it.
Thank you for the reminder.
As one who sees the importance of defining a “Civil War”, I appreciate your ability return to the issue at hand. At the same time the article states, “Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding....”
It seems to me that we cannot act until we first come to agreement on how we apply the terminology, and defining “Civil War” is as good a place as any.
Agree 100%. If the GOP doesn't grow a pair soon, they will lose all power and a new party will emerge from their corpse.
Yes. Reality is a B*tch that way. Unfortunately, it hurts us a lot, because the Leftists control most of the media and routinely change the definition of words to gain advantage.
The use of the term "REPUBLICANS/CONSERVATIVES" is the reason why they get away with it. The members of the "guild" (as mentioned in the article), the nomanklatura, extend to both major political parties. We must cease using Republican and Democrat to describe the two sides in this battle. The line is actually between LEFT and RIGHT.
Thanks for posting this.
Totally agree.
I think at this point, plans for winning need to be considered.
Bump
Civil war in America will spread to Europe in a matter of hours. Continental Europe is going through the same situation: a professional liberal political class, out of touch with angry constituents, and trying to keep at bay emerging right-leaning populist movements. When things explode over here, they'll explode over there for the same reasons. Only the accents will be different.
In the end, it'll likely be Russia and China picking up the pieces.
Very true. It’s not really a US Civil War that’s brewing, it’s a World War between the left and the right.
“The War Between the States was indeed a Civil War.”
No, it wasn’t.
It was a war between the United States of America and the Confederate States of America, two separate and distinct countries.
A civil war must be between two factions within the same country.
